Chapter 25

We all sat around the big living room, everyone told stories and shared with Lola and Dani.
Kenzie sat next to me smiling big, she was hot. But I didn't like her anymore, I was planning on asking Dani out sometime. I just didn't know when.
Kenzie and I have a past. When I first stayed here at 13, I came in the summer after spring break. Kenzie was Lee's friend's little sister. Everyone loved her so she's kind of stuck around.
I haven't seen her cousin, Lee's friend. Her name was Amy but Kenzie comes around more.
When I was 13, I had a crush on Kenzie. She was my first kiss, then when we were 14 we just stuck as friends but I kissed her before I left.
Then at 15, when I was going through a lot of stuff she kind of turned easy. We slept together that whole vacation and she's always been attached when I come to stay.
She has some boyfriend now but I don't like her like that. She's kind of fake for me...I had my mind made up on Dani too. She was just kind of...everything.
One thing that bothers me with Kenzie is that even though she's dating someone she's all over me. I tried to push the thought off though. I could still be Kenzie's friend.
"Alright, we brought pizza, beer, and mike's." Lee said walking back in with Trent carrying bags they had gotten from the store. Beer and Mike's had alcohol in them.
One or two wouldn't kill or get me addicted again, everyone helped themselves to it. "You don't have to drink, if you don't want to." I told Dani as she sat next to me.
"No, it's fine. " she said grabbing one and opening it. I guess I didn't know she could handle alcohol...could she?
She threw her hair over to one side of her head, she looked so pretty. This was it, this vacation was a chance to distract her and finally get her.
"What?" She asked with a small giggle. "Nothing." I said shaking my head.

I sat up in my cot thinking about things, today was the first day of vacation. The dance was in two days and I did need a dress for that.
Plus, I wanted some more summery clothes. Something more impressive than what I'd usually wear.
The events from last night kept going over in my head. Everyone was great, and I loved the atmosphere of this place.
Kenzie made me jealous though. I hated it, it wasn't even a big deal. I shook my head and got up out of the cot. I walked downstairs to see if anyone was awake.
Lee was downstairs talking to Lola. I walked into the kitchen sleepily. "Good morning." Lola smiled. "There's some tea and coffee there, and we have doughnuts on the table." Lee beamed motioning to everything.
"Thanks." I said, getting some tea and sitting down. "You didn't have to go through all the trouble though." I assured her, taking some food.
"It's none, usually I don't cook for breaks like this. Everyone is too drunk to eat or they want junk food." Lee laughed a little.
I smiled but the thought had made me kind of nervous. I wasn't big on drinking.
I was used to hanging around Jack and the football team came over a lot and would have a few beers but we were still kind of young and wouldn't get drunk.
"This place is seriously amazing." I said looking around the kitchen now that it wasn't full of people. Like the rest of the house, it was stunning.
"Thank you. Trent's parents are too generous." She said shaking her head like there was a bit of remorse. "So what do you want to do today?" Lola asked everyone quickly changing the subject around.
"I really need to go shopping, is there like a mall or..?" I began and Lee's eyes got huge. "Yeah! Oh my gosh, it's my favorite mall around. We should go today."she smiled big.
"How about we go get ready and then go?" Lola asked getting up. We all agreed on this and started getting ready.
I walked into the room to see Gage still asleep. He looked really cute asleep. I grabbed my clothes and went into the bathroom to get dressed.
I changed into some light high waisted denim shorts, white converses, and a thin white pull over hoodie. I left my hair natural and applied light makeup since it was only shopping.
I decided on telling Gage in case he woke up, he did look so cute sleeping. I lightly shook him "Gage." I whispered, his eyes slowly.
"Hey." He said sounding raspy. "Hey, we're going to the mall. We'll be back soon." I told him and he nodded obviously still tired.
"Okay, bye." He called out rubbing his eyes, I smiled weakly and walked downstairs. Lola was at the top of the stairs and we walked down together.
"So, do you love Florida?" I asked her smiling.
She nodded, her eyes went big. "Yeah, it's great. Me and Logan are starting to get serious now.." She smiled sheepishly looking at the ground. Logan and Lola weren't much older than me and Gage. Less than a year actually. They're both 17 and Gage is almost 17. I'm the youngest.
I just don't get it, 17 seems young to be serious.
"That's cool." I said opening the front door and walking out to the driveway. Lee and Kayla were there by Lee's car getting into the front seats, we sat in the back.
"So what's going on with you and Gage?" She asked me with a smirk. I didn't know weather or not to tell her the truth. Why not? It wouldn't do any harm and that Kenzie girl wasn't here.
"Well we're like best friends...and we kiss but that's it. We're going to the dance together, nothing big." I shrugged pretending it wasn't. "Oh my gosh!" Lola said. I rolled my eyes "Lola." I groaned.
"Gage is a really good guy, I always liked him since he was 13 and came here." Lee smiled with her big sunglasses on. Kayla, with the pretty curls in her hair nodded along.
"Yeah, he is. Do you think Kenzie would be upset we didn't invite her?" Kayla asked sarcastically...wait what? Lee sighed "No, thankfully she's not gonna be back till tonight." She said shaking her head.
"Wait, what?" I asked amused. "Kenzie was fine when she was younger, but her cousin Amy always had an influence on her. Amy and I were friends till I found out she tried to make a move on Trent. I ended that right there, but we let Kenzie come because she was a nice little girl. Once I quit being friends with Amy though it was like Kenzie needed an excuse to hang around us. She started sleeping with this guy Noah who used to come and now she basically invites herself and is always trying to get with Gage." Lee explained rolling her eyes.
"Yeah, even if she has a boyfriend she's always all over some other guy. I can't stand her." Kayla said shaking her head. The thought made me dislike Kenzie more and more.
"She's going today to get her boyfriend." Lola told me with an eye roll.
But I'm guessing now, I'll have to be on guard.
