Right then, let's get started. I leap lightly out the window and glide onto a branch of the first tree in the cluster. Moving silently across the branches I reach the outer edge and wait. Minutes later one of the intruders reaches the cropping and begins to enter. He is the last one on this line. The security on the house must be pretty good though since all the hostile dots on the mini map were still showing as being outside. As the man passes under my branch he stops and speaks into the small radio he is carrying.

"East side, clear," he says, and small static nose follows before a voice says,

"Roger, hold your position."

I feel a smirk curve my lips as I make a loop from my thread and lower it down carefully in front of the man. In the darkness he doesn't notice once it is properly draped around his neck, I roll backwards off the branch to use my body weight to tighten the noose. As the radio starts to drop from the man's slackening hands, I snag it with my tail and once the man stops struggling, I swing back up and lower him carefully to the ground. Lucky being a Beastskin comes with enhanced strength or I'd have just had to drop him.

I scamper down and check for a pulse. Still alive. I haven't developed into a game murder hobo yet. But I also don't feel bad about it like I should in reality hmmm, am I becoming apathetic to the life and death of others? Is this what they mean when they say video games promote violence? Well, I suppose I need to get back to real life before that will be an issue.

Forcefully moving my mind on from my potential development of homicidal tendencies I go back up the tree and move higher to glide onto the edge of the roof. All the hostiles were now within range of the trees around the house while the majority were in two groups at the front and back entrances of the house. I creep across the roof behind the solar panels and the storage tank for the hot water system to the west side and go flat as a hostile scales the wall to come onto the roof. I crawl over and press my back to the chimney as he comes up to it on the other side and peers in.

"Chimney is warded as well." The roof guy says and the voice from before responds.

"Understand, wait there and keep an eye out for the master's return; they won't be distracted for long particularly when they can't contact the house."

"Yes, sir" the roof guy says and then mutters "Still don't think its dignified trying to take the madam as a hostage."

I wonder at the fact that guys haven't noticed me then realised that it should be the passive stealth bonus Adrianna gave making me harder to detect. Well, if that's the case, I best make the most of it.

I shift to face towards the chimney and flick the silver thread. Grasping the end when it comes back around to me and flipping up to brace my legs of the chimney and pull. The man is locked to the chimney and scrambles at his throat. Before going still. I slowly release him and when he remains still, I grab the radio off his belt and go back across the roof and to the north. At the northeast corner of the house, I peer down to see the group at the back door huddled together with their arms raised and pointing at the door. There were five of them in total.

While they are focused I glide off into a nearby tree and move to the back of the cropping to place the two radios together on the ground. Going back up into the trees I move to where I can see the group at the back door and wait. A few minutes later the commanding voice comes through the radio.

"Report."

"We have almost unravelled the ward at the back door." Says one of the men on the side of the group before two pause at the strange echo back and look towards the back of my cropping of trees. Best thing about radio decoys is it doesn't matter who speaks; they all activate.

The small commander of the backdoor group gestures and a pair break off from the group and move into my crop of trees.

"The ward on the front door should be broken in two minutes." A different voice sounds through the radios which allows the pair to pinpoint the location of the two I had left behind. As they head towards the spot, they break off in different directions to circle around.

I shadow the one who moves left and once he is out of line of sight, swing my wire to catch him and then roll over to kick down hard on the back of his head before letting him drop with a muffled thud. I immediately swing back up and cross over to the tree on the opposite side. Not disappointing me the other one of the pair calls softly for his partner and when he doesn't get a response comes over. When he steps out and sees his companion, he raises his hand pointed at the area behind his partner allowing me to slide down the tree and sneak up behind him. I loop the wire around and cling to his back as he begins to struggle. I wrap my tail around one arm and jerk it up when it suddenly glows red and a ball of light shoots out hitting the opposite tree setting it on fire. On reflex I twist harder with my tail dislocating his shoulder as he staggers forward, I then shift my legs and push slamming his head into a tree. As he drops, I leap free into the trees and race back towards the house.

That looked like magic, but I don't remember magic being in the brief. I am going to be miffed if this is a magic world and all I can do is get furry.
