"Royal enforcers spotted off the starboard bow. Approaching fast." The call came form the crow's nest and I glance at Levi.
"Prepare to disembark back to the Alethian as it comes round the port side. Angle this ship to block the Alethian ship from view. We will sacrifice this ship as a decoy for a better escape." Thankfully, the crew new when to ask questions and when to get a job down.
While the royal enforcers fire at the ship the crew steady the bearing and move to the port side, ropes are immediately thrown over and they begin quickly sliding over to the next ship. As the Enforcer ship continues to approach, I gesture for the final few crewman to leave and take the topes while instructing. "when the Enforcer ship attaches move the Alethian to the bow. With the Enforces facing the stern it will be difficult for them to detach this dead wait ship and then turn to chase."
"Yes Captain." The last man nods before disembarking leaving Levi and I alone on the ship.
"I would have thought you would just leave them a ghost ship to seize," Levi muses.
"Normally I would but in this case need to make certain that the enforces come aboard to be properly tied up for a bit. Since the pirates are not used to this type of manoeuvring as of yet." As I speak, I stretch my arms and legs limbering up. I wasn't going to use a blade against the enforcers if I could avoid it so that there could be no claims of fighting against the Royal authority. Clearly has a sword but doesn't use, naturally is not fighting.
"I see leaving breadcrumbs, are we?"
"naturally, it is leaving rope, just enough for some troublesome people to hang themselves with."
"Still thing there are rats in my enforcers?"
"Not sure, but better to let any rats it poisons than cheese."
"we are the royal enforcers prepare to be boarded." A voice announces from the starboard side even as the entire ship shudders in response the harpoons used to attach to the side.
How very permanent. If I was still worried about them being able to quickly chase before I am now much relieved.
When the first enforcer charges over I step up and into his charge sliding my feet between his steps and offsetting his balance to toss him towards the stern of the ship.
As if in sync Levi steps up and snatches the hands of the next two charging over twisting and smacking them into each other. He then turns to me with a smirk.
Oh, it's like that is it? I leap forward at the next three leaping up to kick one in the chest and then springing back to catch the second around the neck with a thigh while reaching out with my arm to grab the third be fore spinning my weight to the floor and tossing the two men back towards their oncoming compatriots.
"Not bad." Levi brushes past me as he speaks casually grabbing hold of the next closest enforcer and with a twist tossing him into the following four knocking them all down. I growl slightly under my chest just as a horn sounds from the bow. With a regretful look at the recovering and still approaching enforcers I turn and sprint for the bow leaping up and over it directly at the rope ladder leading the two crow's nest I latch on the swing left just as Levi lands beside me.
"Full ahead." Gabel calls out and the ship speeds away leaving behind the confused enforcers still attached to the slave ship.
