Beast Business 3.10

Lee

When he had first gotten the notice that an attack was underway on the mansion he had lost control for a moment. The unfortunate attacker who had been trying to distract him got three broken ribs, a dislocated shoulder and a concussion for his attempt. The rest of the attacker just collapsed from the release of his pressure. You don't get to be the heir to a millennial Yokai Yakuza by being a soft target. It was only a concern that the scent of blood might affect Rayne's delicate senses that prevented the meeting room from being bathed in blood.

"You better hope that nothing happens at the house. Cause if my father fades from losing mother I'm left in charge and if my sweet is gone then this city's bones can be used to pave his way to the next life. Who knows I might just send the world to join you." A pale blue flame flickered in Lee's eyes as he looked at the head of the Mizucana who had called the meeting. With a glance at his father Lee turned and left the room. Ignoring the bodies piled up in his way he strode from the building and then disappeared after he exited the front door.

Lee rematerialized in the forest on the edge of the estate next to a charred tree. Traces in the ground showed the struggle. Lee looked at the two men unconscious on the ground and snarled at the traces of Rayne on their clothes.

"I will take care of them." Kain appeared behind Lee and passed a cold look over the men. Lee nodded and then headed for the house as he passed the man unconscious near the back door his expression darkened further. Stepping through the door he pressed a hand to the wall only to feel the last registered intruder fall unconscious. Lee inhaled slowly and then followed the sense of Rayne into the library. The traces of the magic struggle caused his lips to twist and he flickered from sight reappearing directly over Rayne.

After he pulled Rayne from the top of the bookcase Lee looked him over for injuries but found none. There were no traces of blood on his clothes either to suggest an injury that had already healed. AS Rayne shifted back to his full human form Lee allowed himself to calm slightly before he turned a blank look on Adrianna as she walked into the library.

"Can I ask why he isn't in the safe room with mother may?" Lee asked with a neutral expression.

"I didn't want to go. Besides nothing stupider than putting your targets all in the same place." Rayne interrupted as he slid between Lee and Adrianna and watched Lee with wide eyes. "You're not going to try and deny me the fun are you?" Rayne asked as a vague disappointment appeared in his eyes.

"No, I just don't like the thought of you getting hurt and it is twice today that you have been in danger." Lee focused on Rayne and sighed. If he tried to pursue the matter with Adrianna it would be denying Rayne's right of choice and that was not a good start. He would just have to take him with him next time. If nothing else for the interested way Adrianna was watching Rayne Lee could be assured of his ability to handle himself.

The next morning as Mother May fussed over Rayne at the kitchen table Lee went over his assignments for the day before speaking to his Father. "Father, I believe that it would be best to take Rayne with me for today's rounds as it will give him a good introduction." Lee said as he handed across his plan for his day. Father Tori looked the plan over and nodded. Mother May snatched the plan and examined it before grabbing a pen and making a few changes.

"Rayne needs to eat more. You have to schedule proper meals." Mother May fussed. Rayne ate in silence as he consumed twice as much as anyone else at the table. Even Adrianna who was the previous largest eater due to the matter dispersion of her shifts did not match Rayne's consumption.

"Are you happy to come with me for the day?" Lee turned to check with Rayne as he finished his meal. Rayne nodded happily and bounced to his feet.

"I'm sure it will be interesting." Rayne said as he accepted the belt Adrianna pulled out and slid it on. Lee raised a brow at the sight of the spider needle belt kit. Adrianna was normally the only one that could use that kit. Though Lee supposed given what he had seen of Raynes skill with silver wire it would seem he would have a talent for spider style combat despite his beast.
