imagine: you find changbin sat in a café with the girl he cheated on you with
y/n's pov
just a week had passed and you were already missing him. you often fell asleep watching videos of him, and you couldn't help but fall in love all over again - that was the last thing you wanted.
no matter how many times you tried to rid your mind of him, he kept appearing over and over again. it put a smile on your face, but a weak one. your smile eventually started to disappear as time went by, and you were left with downcast eyes, your hands tightened into fists with your phone sat in your lap - you were always waiting for his call, or at least his texts.
14 texts in 7 days. he'd ask you if you slept well, he'd send the same text every morning, even if you didn't reply. and he'd say goodnight to you every night, you still didn't reply. but you waited for that text every night, your palms sweaty. you'd hoped that, at some point, his text would be something you hadn't read this past week. not a good morning, or a good night, but an 'i miss you', or maybe you wanted him to ask for a second chance. even if you wouldn't give him one, you felt relieved that he was trying so hard to get you back.
with a weak smile on your face, you stepped towards the counter of the cafe, your hands neatly held in front of you.
"cappuccino, no sugar," you smiled, glancing around the room to see the people sat around the tables. you stopped once you caught changbin in your glance but, rather than smiling wider, your eyes narrowed, your nails scratching your purse in your hand.
he was with another girl. the same girl you found that night you left him.
you held back from walking over to see him, you simply waited for him to notice your gaze. and, soon enough, he did. he noticed.
you watched his lips move to say your name, your eyes rolling back before reaching to grab your drink, quickly paying before walking back towards the exit.
"y/n!"
you spun around before he could grab your arm, he already stared at you as if he was going to apologise.
"i'm-"
"let's not do this here," your eyes began to roam around the room, staring back at the customers watching, "i just came to get some coffee."
"let me buy you a drink later," the hope in his eyes tormented you, and it was enough for you to tut and look away with sorrow.
"it looks like your girlfriend might want one," you nodded towards his table, eyeing the girl sat patiently waiting for him with a cheeky smile. "let's talk some other time-"
"talk to me, now," he sighed, taking your hand in his.
you were quick to snatch your hand back, reaching for the door handle to finally leave.
having a conversation with him wasn't as easy as you thought, you felt too rushed to have his hand touching yours again. you stood in the doorway to the café, your bag clutched in one hand, your other clenched into a fist. at first, you questioned yourself as to why you waited. you refused to move. changbin was the only person stopping you from walking away. you just wanted him to follow you outside, you wanted him to keep trying no matter how many times you'd refuse to let him touch you or even get close enough to you. yet he stood on the other side of the door, just standing there. neither of you moved an inch, you thought that he was waiting for you, too.
he knew you wouldn't walk away, and you knew he wouldn't let you. you'd just wait for him, you'd wait patiently. it didn't matter how long it would take, you didn't care how long it took for you to trust him again, what worried you was the fact that your relationship would never be the same again. it would be hard to trust him fully, you'd have concerns, and you'd be worried most of the time. so, you had to think. you'd be worrying for the rest of your life, it would always bother you.
was it worth it? to stay? to try again?
or was it just easier to let go?
