imagine: jisung surprises you on valentines.
y/n's pov
after your fight with jisung, you were unsure of seeing him, or even texting him. he hadn't messaged you to apologise, nor had he visited you. it felt like weeks since you'd seen one another but, in reality, it'd barely been a few days. time went by slowly without jisung, it felt horrible. you wanted more than anything to make up with him, but you didn't know how to.
your whole argument was stupid. you felt embarrassed just thinking about it. he was always busy with work, and he barely spent his time with you anymore so, of course, you'd be frustrated. but, you couldn't take that out on him. it wasn't fair. yet, you did. you complained to him all night about how he wasn't making time for you, and how he was focused on other things.
but, after taking a few days to yourself, you realised how much pressure he must be under. he was constantly working, rehearsing, and then he had to fit in time for you. you understood he was stressed.
as you sat in bed and thought, your phone buzzed beneath you, and so you reached out to grab it.
finally. jisung texted you.
jisung:
look outside.
you sat up from your bed hesitantly, but still eager to see what jisung had meant. as you leapt out of the comfort of your blankets, you tilted yourself over the windowsill to see jisung stood outside with a bouquet of flowers, and a neatly wrapped gift bag.
he looked up at you, smiling and waving the bouquet to you as you grinned back at him.
you'd completely forgotten it was valentines day.
you rushed yourself downstairs to open the door and greet him. he was dressed in a comfortable suit; a white shirt, with dark trousers. it felt as though you were meeting him for the first time all over again. your heart pounded as you reached your arms around his neck, trying not to squash the flowers held in his hand.
you pulled away, realising how awkward it must have been for him. he hadn't texted in days, you knew things would be even a little awkward. but his bright smile washed away your fears, and you felt free to cuddle up to him.
"happy valentines, love." he grinned, handing you the bouquet, and watching as you smiled widely.
your eyes met his, and silence slowly filled the atmosphere. it felt calm at this moment. the trees whistling, the birds singing, the streets empty and quiet. you parted your lips to speak, but felt nothing come out. you didn't realise how speechless you were. for a moment, you thought, perhaps, you were nervous. seeing him stare at you so lovingly made your heart flutter, and you couldn't help but continue smiling.
the air turned cold, and you watched as his smile dropped. "i'm sorry." his head fell slowly, his eyes wandering over his feet as he waited for a response.
"y-you're..." you paused, frowning as you tilted your head lower in an attempt to meet his eyes, "sorry?"
eventually, he lifted his head back up, "i didn't give you my time like i should have."
your heart began to sink again.
you felt guilty, embarrassed, apologetic...
"actually," you cleared your throat, looking up to him with a soft smile, "i realised you must be going through a hard time. i've accepted that you're finding things difficult, but we can work this out... together."
his blank face had switched in an instant, his wide smile returning. "i wish i explained it bett-"
"i'm sorry," you apologised, stopping him to wrap your arms around his waist. this time, the bouquet did get squished. "i'm sorry for not understanding you."
he chuckled lightly, and breathed a sigh of relief. finally, his hands reached your head, patting it gently as he brushed his fingers gently through your hair. it felt comforting to feel his touch again, even something as simple as this. his presence was your entire happiness.
he pushed you away, frowning and handing you the bouquet of flowers. "you've ruined them, now."
a small smile formed across your face, and you brushed his hair comfortingly, taking the bouquet into your hands. "shall i get you some, too? i'll make up for it."
he snatched the flowers back in a grump, pouting, "forget it."
"hey!" you slapped his arm playfully, playing along with him as you took the bouquet back into your arms. "they're mine. not yours. i'll get you your own."
he fidgeted and finally smiled, kissing your head and leading you inside. "shall we go for a drive? i wanted to visit busan for valentines."
"busan??" you jumped excitedly, "can we go?"
jisung felt your excitement the second you began to bounce up and down. he quickly nodded, combing your hair with his fingers.
"get dressed, we can go now."
