imagine: after falling in love with han jisung, you have to say your goodbyes quickly.
y/n's pov
just over an hour ago, you'd gotten a message from jisung asking if he could come over. obviously you responded with a yes.
he'd been out with his friends most of the day; minho and changbin. he would usually respond to you quickly if you ever sent him a message, it would take no longer than a few minutes for him to send you cute texts asking where you were, if you were safe and who you were with.
after only being friends with him for a few months, you finally decided it was time to tell him how you felt. you couldn't just give in to your feelings at first, so you waited some time to think about what you wanted, and you came to a final decision.
you'd fallen in love with him. deeply.
you had a lot to think about at first. you didn't know him very well when he first moved, which is why you gave him a chance and got to know him.
you thought that telling him would be hard, because you'd been friends for months now, and you had no idea how he felt.
sure, the two of you had a few 'moments' together, but they were always ruined. either minho just didn't like the idea of the two of you alone in a room, or he really liked spending time with the both of you. either way, you hardly had time alone to spend with each other, so you didn't get a chance to tell him previously. so since he would be coming over, you took this as an opportunity to tell him how you feel.
before you had a chance to grab your hoodie, the front door opened to your house.
usually, you'd keep the door on the latch for jisung to come in whenever he needed to, but recently you'd gotten him a key to your house, that way it didn't look suspicious to other neighbours.
"sungie!" you called out, standing up from the sofa and rushing over to him to greet him with a hug.
you were glad you were able to at least hug him since you were so close, it would've been awkward if it wasn't an every day thing.
"slow down... you're gonna knock me over!" he chuckled, carrying in a small bag, his keys in his other hand.
"i see you went shopping." you nodded, smiling as he entered the room.
"yeah, there's something i need to talk to you about actually..." he sighed.
"i need to tell you something, too." you giggled, not hearing his mumbled sigh. you didn't know whether it was good or bad what he was telling you, but he didn't have a happy look on his face. "something wrong?"
"can we sit down?" he sat down on the sofa, watching you walk over to sit beside him.
"are you okay?" you frowned, starting to feel a little anxious as to why he wasn't in a cheery mood, you could tell he wasn't himself.
"so, the thing is... my family's moving." he scratched his neck, still gripping tightly onto the small bag in his hands.
"wait, are you moving to busan? you've been talking about that since you first moved to seoul!" you giggled excitedly, clapping your hands.
"it's a little further than that..."
"then, where?"
"america." jisung nodded, your eyes widening immediately.
you quickly narrowed them, "i-i don't understand..."
"my dad has work there, and my mom's starting work there, too. it pays a lot more than her-"
"you're leaving?"
you feel a tear dribble down your cheek. your attempt to hide your tears didn't go as planned. he didn't even bother to look at you at this point. he knew if he took one look at how upset you were, he'd stay...he'd completely refuse to leave you knowing that you'd be like this.
he exhaled deeply, turning to you and holding your hand, his other hand resting on your cheek. "please don't cry..." as much as he tried to comfort you, your emotions continued to pour it and smother your cheeks. "at first i said i wouldn't go... i wanted to stay here, with you. but, my mom said i can visit whenever i want when we get sorted out there." his thumb brushed across your skin, wiping away your tears, "i'd never leave you. ever. i'm just...not gonna be around as much as you want me to." a sad smile crept up onto his face, glaring into your teary eyes.
"i understand..." you lied, looking down away from him. you couldn't bare to meet his eyes. because, if you did, you wouldn't hesitate to kiss him, or to hold him tightly, or to spill every feeling you've ever felt for him. it took everything in you to not do those things...and it hurt.
"it's not a goodbye present... it's more of an 'i'll see you soon' gift." he smiled, handing you the small bag beside him.
you opened it to find a box, and as you opened that box you saw a necklace with jisung's name engraved into it.
as much as you tried to fight it, you couldn't hold back your tears anymore.
"if i didn't know for definite that i'd be back... i wouldn't leave. i promise i'll be back soon. it won't be forever."
you closed the box, sitting it beside you on the sofa as you finally met his eyes.
you leant in closely, already regretting your decision. your lips touched his, your tears dripping down onto your jumper as you felt the warmth of his lips on yours.
he pulled away almost instantly, looking down, "i wish you didn't do that..."
hearing those words come out of his mouth broke your heart. you honestly thought he felt something for you...
"i-i'm sorry..." you sat back, hiding your face before he finally looked up, his eyes wet and bloodshot.
"it's making it harder for me to leave you..."
