Chapter 28: Open wound

Tony's POV
Pepper goes to slap her across the face but her hand stops a few inches away. She looks around the room with a confused expression until she notices that Wandas hand is facing her. She had stopped Pepper with her magic. "Don't hurt my mommy, you'll regret it" Wanda shouts at her.

Pepper nods her head and walks down the aisle to me, "Did you know Loki and Gen have a kid together?" I shake my head and sigh, "It's not his kid, it's mine. We need to postpone this wedding so I can get this handled." She looks even angrier now but she agrees to postpone it.

"You little slut! I knew you were pregnant! Did you leave so that you could get even more attention when you came back?!" Pepper began to scream at her. Gen uses her telekinesis to throw Pepper against one of the walls. "You think I wanted this?! Do you really think I would want to be pregnant at 17 with the father not loving me?!" she screams back.

My face drops, she really believes those words I said to her. Rogers has a look of hurt all over his face and he looks to the ground. Gen slowly brings Pepper higher and higher on the wall until Nat runs up and pulls her into a hug.

Pepper drops to the floor and no one helps her up. Gen burst out in tears as Nat hugs her tightly. Bruce, Thor, Cassie, and Gamora finally run into the room in confusion. Cassie doesn't look around, she just runs to Pepper and helps her get up. The other three notice Gen and their eyes widen even more when they see Wanda and Loki.

I yell at everyone to meet back to the tower and the wedding will be postponed. Before getting in my Ironman suit to leave, I grab Gens wrist. "Don't teleport anywhere but the tower, you're not leaving us again" I give Loki a glare and set off for the tower.

After we're all back, we sit in the living room and all stare at Gen. Pepper wanted to stay upstairs with Cassie who hasn't even talked to Gen yet. Loki has his hand on her waist as he sits beside her and Wanda is in between the two of them. "You have a lot of explaining to do, you worried me to death Genevieve!" Rogers yelled. Gen flinches into Loki's chest, causing Rogers to furrow his brows.

"When did the flinching start again and are you really dating him? Loki of all people??" he continues to question her. Gen lifts her head up and looks him straight in the eyes, "No, we aren't dating. He saved my life Rogers. The flinching started after I left here but it hasn't happened in years. I'm not sure why I just did."

Gen finally looks back to me and tries her best to give me a smile, "I'm really glad your happy Tony. It's all I ever wanted for you." I return a small smile, if only she knew how unhappy I really am. She's all I will ever want. "Speaking of that, care to explain this thing?" Rocket speaks up and points to Wanda.

Gen let's out a small chuckle and wipes her eyes, "This is my daughter, Wanda. Loki told me everything that happened before I came in so I guess there's no need to name the father." She gets off the couch and picks up Wanda.

"This is your uncle Quill and auntie Gamora" she points to them and Wanda gives them each a smile. They both say hi to Wanda and Quill gives Gen a big hug, "You can't leave us like that ever again. I thought I lost you." Gen wipes Quills eyes and nods her head.

She introduces everyone else to Wanda. Rogers and I are the last ones left and Gen seems to be going around it for as long as she can. "This is Steve Rogers" she finally gets around to him. Wanda freezes in place after a moment of looking at Roger. "Darling, are you alright?" Loki bends down next to Wanda and rubs her head.

"Mommy, don't be mad at me please" she looks up at her mother. Gen looks confused, "Why would I be mad at you?" Wanda looks down to the floor and doesn't respond for a moment. Finally she speaks up, "You left your closet open one night so I went inside it."

Gens face falls and everyone looks at her with raised eyebrows. "I'm not mad but you know that you aren't aloud in there" she barely whispers. "What do you keep in there?" Loki questions and stands up to talk with Gen.

"She's talking about the pictures of Rogers and I that I kept" a tear rolls down her face. Of course, she loves him. How could I think she loved me? Rogers stands up and pulls Gen into a hug, causing her to burst into tears.

"I love you Genevieve, I looked for you every single day. Why did you leave me? What happened?" Rogers asks as he still holds her tight. She stops crying immediately and gets out of his grip. Her chest rises and falls faster and she just stares at me. I feel myself lift off the couch and slam against the wall, oh no.

Everyone stands up quickly and Loki steps in front of her, "Don't do this darling." Gen walks towards me but stops using her powers. She kneels beside me and grabs my chin, forcing me to look at her. "I loved you and you broke my heart"she slaps me hard across the face and walks back to the couch.

The team just stares at her, please don't tell them what I said. "You guys really want to know my reason for leaving? I was pregnant with Wanda and I knew Tony was the father. He's the only guy I have ever slept with. Well, when the father of your child calls you unlovable, you don't exactly want to stick around" she says sharply. They're gonna kill me.

Natasha charges towards me and punches me in the face, "I fucking knew it! She went in there to tell you she was pregnant and you called her unlovable before she got the chance!" Everyone's eyes move to Nat now and she realizes what she just admired.

"You knew she was pregnant and you didn't tell us?!" Rogers screams. The entire room started yelling until a bright light blinded us all and we got knocked to the floor. "Stop fighting! You're making my mommy upset!" Wanda screams. She's a good kid.
