Chapter 34: Unwanted

Genevieve's POV
I can't believe he really just said that to her. She has so much on him, she could quite literally ruin his life with a snap of her fingers. Tony isn't thinking this through.

"What did you just say to me?" Pepper asks, even she seems shocked by his words. He grabs my hand and intertwines our fingers, "You heard me bitch. I want you and Cassie out of my house by noon tomorrow. The only reason Cap can stay is because he's an avenger."

Okay so he really isn't thinking this through. I look down at my hand in his and can't help but smile like nothing else matters. Every time we touch it feels like the most beautiful thing I've ever experienced. I feel safe immediately, like nothing else in the world can harm me as long as I'm with him. It never felt this way with Rogers.

I remove my gaze from our hands and check to see Peppers reaction to everything he just said. This may sound insane but it almost looks like she's... smirking? But not an upfront smirk, it's almost like she's trying to hide it with an angry expression.

"You'll be sorry for this, Tony Stark" she speaks through her teeth and turns around sharply. After she storms inside I hear Tony let out a deep sigh of relief, "I really thought that wasn't going to work for a moment." He kisses my forehead and pulls me into a tight hug.

I wrap my arms around him and try my best to just enjoy this moment. After a few seconds I pull away, "Are you sure that was the right decision? She could ruin you." Maybe now isn't the best time but I really am worried for him. Pepper is a psychotic bitch. She definitely seems like the "if I can't have you, no one can" type of girl.

"Gen, she would be ruining my life either way. I'd prefer for her to do it while I'm with you rather than ruining it by making me lose you" he speaks softly and brushes the hair out of my face. I nod my head gently and put my forward to his, I understand what he's saying.

"We should go back inside, it's getting late" I whisper. We let go of each other and walk back in where some of the team was still waiting for us. Rogers was sitting on the stairs with his face in his hands. His eyes move between Tony a few times, almost like he knows what just happened outside.

"Can I please talk to you Genevieve? Sleeping with Cassie was the dumbest thing I've ever done, I don't want to lose you" Rogers stands up and walks down to me. Everyone's eyes turns to me to see what I have to say.

I close my eyes and sigh, "No you can't. You slept with her wether or not it was a mistake. Cassie and Pepper are leaving tomorrow and you're lucky you aren't. Leave me alone Steve." His face drops and he slowly nods his head. The least he could do is stay away from me after this.

"Wait, Peppers leaving? What happened there?" Bruce chimes in. I look over my shoulder to see what Tony is going to say. "You guys, there's a lot you don't know about my relationship with Peter. I'll tell you eventually but right now isn't the time. I told her that Cassie and her both need to leave."

As I try to read everyone faces for their reactions, I notice Peter giving me a small smile. I may have been cheated on too but Peter has it so much worse. He truly loves her and they were together for so long. He deserves so much more than what he has had to deal with in his life.

"You alright Peter?" I ask him. Everyone else seems extremely cheery to hear the two bitches are leaving tomorrow. No one wanted them here, especially Pepper. He nods his head and gestures for me to follow him out on the patio. The entire room was filled with conversations about how happy they are so no one noticed.

We step outside and look over the railing at the beautiful city. "So, that was unexpected. Cap and Cassie? I've never even seen them have an entire conversation with each other" Peter says as we admire the view. He does have a point, I haven't been back for too long but I've still never really seen them talk.
