Chapter 15: screw you

Genevieve's POV:
"Sooo how was the date?!" Pepper giggles as Cap and I walk inside. I know she's trying to be nice but if she doesn't stop talking I'm going to throw her down 12 floors. Yes, I mean that literally. Everyone was in the room so they all furrowed their brows at us in confusion. God she makes my life complicated.

"It wasn't a date guys, it's called lunch. Ya know, that thing everyone has? We just so happened to have it together" I put my purse down and walk upstairs to put on pajamas. I catch Caps eyes and he gives me a wink. I hope this doesn't end up like Tony and I.

After changing I decided to teleport downstairs, it's easier and makes quite the entrance. I close my eyes and imagine myself on my seat of the couch. I feel something below me, not the cushion. When I open my eyes I realize that Tony was sitting on my seat so I'm now sitting on his lap.

I jump off and roll my eyes, "That's my seat, asshole. If you're gonna sit there let me know so shit like that doesn't happen." I take a sit next to Cap and he gives me a grin.

"Maybe if you just teleported next to the couch instead of on it, we wouldn't have the issue. Or, here's an idea, walk down like the rest of us. Don't call me an asshole ever again, by the way" Tony gives me a fake smile. He's such an arrogant prick, why did I ever like him? Why do I STILL like him?!

"Oh yes, of course Mr. Stark. Are you my dad now??" I get up from my seat and head for the stairs. I feel Rogers grip on my wrist, "I'm okay Cap." He lets go with a sigh and I go up stairs. I hear a knock on my door, "Who is it?" I swear if Tony's voice comes from the other side of this door I will raise hell.

"It's Pepper" nevermind, this is worse. She has never knocked on my door so what could she possibly want. I don't really try to hide the fact that I don't like her or her boy toy. She walks into my room without any invitation and sits on my bed. Has this bitch never heard of personal fucking space?!

"We need to have a little chat" she smiles but I can see from a mile away that it's fake as hell. She's up to something. "I need you to stay away from Tony" I'm sorry, what did she just say? I never even talk to him, I can't get much further saying that I LIVE HERE!! "Excuse me?" I raise an eyebrow and fold my arms. Who does she think she is?

She leans in closer and her smile turns to a glare, "Stay. Away. From. Tony. It's simple." I stand up and pull her off the ground from her collar. "I don't know what you're suggesting, but I don't want Tony. I rarely talk to him. When I do, we're both assholes to each other" I say through clinched teeth.

"I dare you to hurt me. Tony loves me, he would throw you onto the streets without a second thought" Pepper smirks. I'd love to watch him try. I punch her in the face as hard as I can, blood rushes from her nose immediately. Shit, kinda forgot about the whole super strength thing.

"Get out of my face and don't EVER threaten me again" I let go of her collar and throw her to the ground. She glares at me again and stands up. "Get out, you're bleeding on my carpet" I use my powers to push her out of my room and slam the door. I didn't like her before, but she just got on my bad side.

Not a pretty place to be. I hear someone stomp upstairs a moment later and my door slams open, Tony. Well this should be fun. "Did you seriously assault Pepper?! What the hell is wrong with you??" he yells at me and steps closer. I suggest that he watches his next moves carefully. A pissed off teenage girl with powers isn't a fun sight for someone that just has a suit.

"Yes and no" I give him a smirk and he pins me against the wall. Is he trying to turn me on or scare me? "It's a yes or no question" I feel his hot breath hit my face. "Then yes, I did. I'm assuming she failed to mention what she said to me?" he gave me a puzzled look.

Of course she didn't, why does she hate me so much? Tony left me for her without a word, not the other way around. I haven't done a single thing to hurt her.

"What are you talking about" he backed away from me. I brushed myself off and walked to my bed. His eyes burned into the back of my head as I walked. "Well it sounded something like 'stay. away. from. Tony. It's simple' and then she threatened me. Saying that you guys are just so in love that you would kick me out in a heartbeat if I hurt her. I took my chances" I gave Tony a fake smile and put on some puppy dog eyes when I was talking about how in love they are.

He starts pacing the room and running his hand through his hair. He does look pretty attractive. NO! No he doesn't. "Just leave some space between you two. The last thing I need in this house is girl drama" Tony walks out of my room and slams the door. Why is he acting like this is my fault??

Tony's POV
How could Pepper say that to Gen? That's horrible and she knows I couldn't do that, not even if I wanted to. Not only would I never kick Gen out, the team wouldn't let me. I hate this thing going on with her and Cap. I'm not jealous- I just- I just don't think relationships inside of a job work out. It could ruin the team. That's all.

Pepper walks into my bedroom where I'm sitting, "Pepper, did you say anything to her? Anything to make her act that way?" Gen isn't the type to lie so I know that she's telling the truth, I just want to see if Pepper will admit it. She sits down beside me and rubs my back, "Baby, I would never. You know me better than that. She's insane."

I decide that agreeing with her makes this easier. "I know, I'm sorry she hurt you babe. Never again" I kiss the top of her forehead and she cuddles into me. We fall asleep soon after. Why did Pepper have to lie to me?

Genevieve's POV
I was about to go into his room to talk things out with him. Before I knock I hear Pepper call me insane. You stupid bitch, he knows me too well to fall for your dumb ass games. Wether he's madly in love with you or not, he isn't that stupid. "I know, I'm sorry she hurt you babe. Never again" he says from the other side of the door. I take that back, he is that stupid. Two can play at that game Tony.
