Chapter 36: this means war

Tony's POV
She can't be serious right now. To go with them would be a suicide mission. She takes a step forward to them and i instantly jump over the coffee table that stood in between us. I stand in front of her, "What the hell do you think you're doing?!"

Tears are forming on her eyes and she gives me a sad smile. "I'm fixing the mess I brought you all into" she whispers. I shake my head and brush a hair behind her ear, "You didn't bring us into anything darling. If we didn't want to protect you then we would've handed you over by now."

"You have a daughter, do you really want to abandon her? Because that's what you would be doing" I start becoming irritated. I'm not upset at her, I'm angry that she won't see our side of this situation. "No I don't but I would rather abandon her than kill all of you, including her. She would still have this team. She would still have you Tony" she puts her hand on my chest.

I've learned to love Wanda with every bone in my body, it's like she's always been around. But I can't do this without Gen, I can't. She's an amazing mother, I know nothing of how to be a single father. Not only that, I can't emotionally handle losing her. I've never had such strong feelings for a person in my life. I can't throw it away. I can't let her throw it away either.

"God, you are all so dramatic. This would've been so much easier if you had just done your job Loki" Pepper sighs. Gen freezes completely and he squeezes his eyes shut with a sigh. Gen turns to him slowly, "What is she talking about Loki?" He steps closer to her as she takes a step further, "It's not what it looks like."

She forces a fake laugh and takes another step back, "Then please enlighten me what it is because it sure looks like what I'm thinking." Loki looks flustered and starts looking at the ground, "I- what happened was- okay so- well uh." He stutters and runs a hand through his hair.

"God, I can't believe I actually trusted you! I allowed you to be in my life when I ran from everyone else and it was all fake! Our friendship was all a game! Everyone was right about you, I was the blind one" Gen scoffs as tears build in her eyes. "You're pathetic Loki" she avoids looking at him and hides her face into my chest.

Loki's face drops as a look of sadness runs over his face. I know him, he's just trying to manipulate her. I wish she would've listened to us about him sooner. "Genevieve, please. You have to believe me. I love you so much and I would never put you or Wanda in harms way" he chokes. She doesn't say a word as I gently stroke her head.

"You can't get into her head this time brother" Thor barks. The team gives Loki a look of disgust. "You!" Loki points to Gens parents. "You did this! You're taking away the only two things I have left! I won't let you!" Her mother and father laugh at his words, "We did nothing of the sort, you brought this upon yourself. What would you do to us anyway?"

Loki immediately teleports behind Mr. Jones and snaps his neck, killing him instantly. Cassie let's put a loud scream and drops to the floor by her dead father, "You monster!" Gens parents clench their jaws and turn to Loki, "He was our greatest member, you're going to pay for that."

Pepper, Bucky, and Gens parents all pull guns out of their pockets and point them at us. "For gods sake Loki! Could you make this any worse?!" Quill yells. Loki teleports back beside us, "I'm sorry! I didn't think this through!" Gen pulls herself away from me to defend herself from her family and Pepper, "Killing someone is something you think through Loki!"

A gunshot sounds off and a bullet flies inches away from Gens face. Her eyes widest for a second before she shakes it off, "You shouldn't have done that." She picks all of them up with her mind and slams them against the ceiling. They crash to the floor, their guns flying out of their hands. "Not all big and mean without your guns huh?" Gen gives a fake smile.

I know this is a serious moment right now but she is so hot when she's being like this. Wow, I really love this woman. They all slowly get back up and get in their fighting stances, they don't know what they're getting themselves into. Bucky runs and jumps over the couch, throwing a punch at Gen.

She ducks it quickly and swiftly kicks his legs causing him to fall to the ground. As their fight continues, Pepper runs to Nat. She tries to punch her in the gut but she obviously is no where near as talented as Romanoff. Nat easily knocks her down, "I never liked you." These women really speak their mind.

Gens mother attacks Loki, kicking him in the gut and then punching him in the face. He falls back for a moment before smiling and flipping her over his back. "I will not allow you to take them away from me. You know I love them" Loki growls while looking down on her. She smirks back up to him, "You've gotten weak." She gets herself back up and continues to fight.

Everyone else tried to help them while I see Gens dad approaching me, this should be fun. "Oh come on, not gonna try to kill your future son in law right?" I fake a smile. He returns this with a fake laugh, "She's no daughter of mind anymore. Besides, I really hate you." Aw, my feelings are hurt.

We start throwing punches at each other, we seem to be equally as strong. Whenever I began to over power him, he matched my level. Whenever he started to over power me, I got right back up. Suddenly they all get thrown across the room and hit the wall with a crash. I turn to see Gen out of breath and looking faint, she isn't used to using her powers very often.

"Get out before we kill you" Gen says with all the night she had left. Everyone else looks in her direction. "We can't just let them go Gen, we need to get them arrested" Bruce explains. Gen doesn't respond and just puts her hands on her knees as she tries to catch her breath.

None of us are looking at the other during this time. I was too late to notice Gens mother crawl towards her gun. A long bang fills the room and my heart drops instantly. Everything starts to move in slow motion. Gens family and Pepper grab Mr. Jones body and sprint out of the compound.

I don't bother to chase them as I look back to where the billet had gone. Gen is laying on the floor sobbing uncontrollably. Right under her, is Loki's dead body.
