Chapter 43:

Genevieve's POV:
It's been about 2 weeks since I first visited Bucky in our field. I go see him there every morning before the others wake up now. We've gotten pretty close, I never knew how much I needed a big brother in my life. He listens to every word I say and genuinely takes it all in.

We've both gotten the chance to explain what our lives have been like since we lost contact. Neither of them have Beene cactus ideal but I can't even imagine how he made it out of everything he went through. What my parents made me do as a i child was awful but they went on a whole different level with him.

It's crazy to think that I was supposed to be in his spot. He could've escaped from all of this years ago but he chose to give me the better life and I can't thank him enough for it. Bucky is the kindest soul I've ever met and wether he likes it to not I'm making of my mission to save him from our parents.

One thing I've noticed lately is how distant Tony has been with me. Things between us were perfect and I can't think of anything that I did that would make him upset with me. He spends all of his time with Wanda and the others or on his suits. Whenever I'm around he just becomes quiet or leaves and it's heart breaking. He even started sleeping with his back to me.

I teleport to the middle of the field as always and lay down beside Bucky. "Hey sis, how have things been? Any luck with Tony?" he asks. I've been telling him about the problems I've had and he really seems to care about them. He doesn't make my life sound easy even though his is ten times worse. I don't know how he does it really.

"Nope, we barely spoke a word to each other yesterday. I still have no idea what I did wrong Buck" I explain. He holds my hand in his, the cold metal giving me chills for a moment. I haven't gotten used to that yet. "I'm sure you did nothing wrong Genevieve. He's probably just busy" he tried to reassure me. I nod my head in hopes that he's right.

"Enough about me, how was your day yesterday? I hope mom and dad didn't do anything to brutal" I question. He turns away from me and ignores my words, "I've always loved these daisies." I sit up slightly to look at him but he still refuses to make eye contact.

I grab his face and turn it so our eyes meet, "What did they do Bucky?" He sighs and closes his eyes, "I refused to kill a group of children. I don't go against them often but I couldn't do it. They made sure I didn't forget it though." He opens his eyes and I can see all the pain behind them.

"What does that mean? They made sure you wouldn't forget it?" I push further. He reached down for his shirt and pulls it up to his chin. A gasp escapes my lips as I moved my eyes down his torso. It was completely covered in deeps cuts and dark bruises, worse than when they kidnapped me.

He lowers his shirt and I gently sit him up to hug him. He winces from the pain but relaxes after a few moments. "This is exactly what I'm talking about Buck, we can't let them get away with this. Let me get out out" I beg. He shakes his head and let's go of me. I let out a sigh, "You're so stubborn." A small smile spreads across his face, "And you're just like me sis."

We both talk for another 30 minutes and lay back down in the field. Our eyes begin to feel heavier and we eventually fall asleep. Hours pass without us even realizing. I feel him nudge me gently, "Genevieve." I elbow him as hard as I can, I hate being woken up. He continues to nudge me so I roll over onto my side. I feel the flowers on my face and realize it isn't my pillow.

My eyes open wide and I jolt up, "Please tell me we didn't fall asleep! What time is it?!" I pull out my phone to see the time, it's already noon. There's no way everyone else hasn't already woken up. "Oh no no no! I gotta go bucky! I love you and I'll see you tomorrow!" I give him a quick peck on the cheek and teleport to the living room. I'm facing the TV and I let out a sigh of relief that I hear no one else. 

I turn around and instantly meet eyes with a very pissed off Tony. If that wasn't bad enough, everyone else was sitting on the couch beside him. He stands up and walks towards me slowly with his arms crossed, "I know where you've been going every morning Gen." Panic washes over me.

"You do?" I ask weakly. How did he figure it out? I've always made sure he's asleep before I leave. He nods his head, "How about I tell everyone else?" I look to the floor and start biting my finger nails. I knew he would be mad but not this mad. "I understand you're upset Tony but don't you think you're going a little overboard?" I whisper to him.

He lets out a loud fake chuckle, "Overboard?! You're ruining the family we made together and you think I'm going overboard?" Maybe it's just me but I'm extremely confused now. I get how visiting Bucky was dangerous at first but I don't get how it's ruining my family? He's my brother after all.

I sit in silence and keep my eyes to the ground. "Well since you won't share it, I will" he says angrily. My hands begin to shake, I have no idea how everyone else will react to this. "She's been cheating on me for 2 weeks now" he says to the team. I look at him quickly with a confused look, what the hell? Everyone else looks shocked.

"Tony what the hell are you talking about?" I ask. He rolls his eyes, "Don't okay stupid now Gen. You've been sneaking out every morning and lying to me, what else would that mean?!" he begins shouting. I take a step back from him and shake my head, "I can't believe you think that's what's been going on! I would never do such a thing!"

He takes another 2 steps closer, I can see the anger all over his face. "Really?! Then why don't you tell us what you've been doing because that's the only explanation I can think of!" I run a hand through my hair and pace for a moment, "You won't be happy, none of you will like this."

Tony sits back down with an amused look, "Oh please, tell me what's really going on." I take a deep breath and look at everyone individually for a moment. I wanted to tell this to them on my own terms, not because I'm being accused of cheating. What if they kick me out because I've been seeing an enemy of their without telling them?
