the midnight melodies
                              are ebbing and flowing
                              like a river never-ending
                              washing over me
as I lay, drowning peacefully under
                              pale pools of moonlight,
                              my back against the grass
                              with lamentations on my lips,
                              twirling my earbud wires
                              between my fingers,
                              feeling the music
                              travel through them
                              like cars on a highway
                              winding into wonderland,
                              and I'm quiet
                              as my mind crescendos
                              into the loud sparks
                              of my mind catching
to the fire of the music
like a lit match held to wood,
                              and my idle thoughts
                              turn into sparklers
                              of unbridled creativity—
my pen wanting to pour ink,
to let out this everlasting electricity

                              hope you like this one<3

                              love,
                              mari
