Short Story: Blaze Finds a "Pet"

(This was during the Sandwing War)
Queen Glacier was flying over to Blaze's fortress, along with some of her guards.

Glacier couldn't help but think about the beautiful Sandwing Princess.

When they'd finally arrived, one of her guards knocked on the doors and it opened.

"Queen Glacier," a Sandwing said, bowing down. She entered and soon found Blaze.

Glacier's heart fluttered whenever she saw Blaze.
"Greetings Queen Glacier," Blaze said jokingly.

Glacier rolled her eyes and they went into Blaze's room and closed the door.

Her guards were outside of the doors, making sure everything was ok.

"Guess what! I have something so cool to show you!" Blaze exclaimed.

Oh no.

Blaze bounded over to the opposite corner of her room. Glacier heard odd and familiar squeaks.

"Blistering icicles, Blaze don't tell me you actually-," Glacier said, exasperated.

Blaze turned around and in her talons, was a squirming scavenger.

"Look at how cute he is!" Blaze exclaimed. Glacier couldn't help but smile whenever the Sandwing princess would beam.

Come on Glacier, try to concentrate.

"Blaze, it's a scavenger. You know how annoying those things are," Glacier said.

"Awww, but he's just so cute!" Blaze said. The scavenger stopped squirming and just made mournful noises.

"Just please don't tell me you've named it," Glacier said, rubbing her temples.

Blaze stayed silent, sheepishly grinning.

"Oh for moons' sake," Glacier muttered underneath her breath. Her cold scales started to feel warmer when Blaze got closer to her.

"Aw come on. I think Topaz is an awesome name for a scavenger!"

"Topaz?"

"Pretty great, eh?" Blaze said, smiling.

"Pft, I mean, I guess so," Glacier said, her face turning into a dark blue.

Blaze hugged her, throwing her wings around Glacier.

"What's this for?" Glacier asked, turning even darker blue.

"Just... for being here," Blaze muttered. Glacier smiled.

All of a sudden, Glacier roared when she felt a sharp prod on her tail. She looked down and saw that the scavenger got a loose piece of wood and stabbed her.

"Everything ok your majesty?" An Icewing guard called through the door.

I'm going to kill that rotten scavenger!

"Yes! Everything is fine!" Was all Glacier could say, gritting her teeth.

"Oh my gosh, I'm sorry Glacier," Blaze said fretfully. She picked up the scavenger and threw it into its cage.

It fell with a thud, but it still managed to get up.
"It's not your fault. Just that nasty, overgrown rat," Glacier said angrily.

"Here, I'll get you patched up," Blaze said. She looked in her drawers and eventually found some bandages and water.

Blaze looked at them, confused.

"Do you not know what to do?" Glacier asked, amused.

"N-No! I totally know," Blaze protested, blushing.

"Here, let me show you how to do it," Glacier offered.

Blaze got close to her and their wings touched as Queen Glacier taught Blaze.
