Chapter 29: Movie Night

Y/N's POV

A few minutes before class started, Alicia came in and took her seat beside me. I stopped my music and pulled the earbuds out of my ears. I smiled and started a conversation. "Hey! How are you?"

She replied, smiling, "Hey! I'm good. Judging by how you're acting, I can tell you're doing a lot better. I'm guessing you didn't have a problem sleeping last night, right?"

I cheerfully replied, "Yep! Hey, do you and Bella want to come over tonight? I know you were planning on coming last night, but you insisted on me getting some rest instead."

"I'll for sure come over! I'll have to check in with Bella, though. She's still a little upset about her friend that went missing a couple days ago." she said.

"Oh, right, that slipped my mind. Well, if she comes, we can try to get her mind off of it for a little bit." I said. My smile fell a little.

"Yeah, so, what are you planning for tonight?" She asked.

I smiled again. "Well, of course, I'll pick us up some snacks. I was also planning on watching a movie. Don't know what movie yet, but we'll figure it out tonight." I said excitedly.

"Sounds fun!" Alicia said.

The bell rang, so we turned our attention to the professor. For once, I wasn't completely dreading my classes. I never dozed off or had a hard time staying awake. I was completely awake and alert. I had almost forgotten what that felt like.

After my classes, I went home, getting things prepared for tonight. I grabbed some blankets and put them by the couch. I made a list of things to buy before the movie. Things like popcorn, sweets, etc. While writing down the list, I got a text from Alicia.

Alicia: Hey, I'm about to head over with Bella. Is everything ready for tonight?

Y/N: Almost. I need to buy some snacks for us. Is there anything in particular you guys want?

Alicia: I would like some kit kats. Bella said that she wanted some jolly ranchers.

Y/N: Alright, I'll add them to the list. See you guys soon!

I set down my phone. I finished the list and double checked to make sure I had everything I needed written down. I decided to wait for Alicia and Bella to get here.

A few minutes later, I heard a knock on my door. I opened up to see Alicia and Bella standing there. I stood aside and let them in. I closed the door behind them and grabbed the list.

"I'm gonna head out to buy the snacks. You guys can choose what movie to watch. I'll be back in a little bit." I said grabbing a sweatshirt.

I headed out the door and made my way to the store.

About half an hour later, I came back with the snacks. I saw that Alicia and Bella were on Netflix looking for a movie on there to watch. I made my way over to them. "Have you guys figured out what to watch?" I asked.

"Not yet, we picked out a few movies that looked interesting. You can come over and take a look." Alicia said.

"Ok. What movies have you looked at?" I asked. My eyes looked over the screen.

Bella was the one that answered. "Alright, we checked out The Dig, The Vanished, Moxie, Rebecca, and Extraction."

I took a look at all the movies, watching the trailers of them. In the end, we agreed on watching Moxie. I passed out the snacks and made some popcorn. We watched the movie while eating our snacks. We laughed and joked around while watching the movie. After it was over, we all agreed that it was an amazing movie.

"During winter break, I'm going to make my sister watch this! I know that she'll absolutely love it! Maybe I should show my other friends this movie, too!" Bella said, smiling widely.

"The next time I visit my cousin, we're watching this movie!" Alicia said, smiling with Bella.

"I'm sure that my friends back home will love this movie, too!" Bella said.

After we were done talking about the movie, it was starting to get dark outside. "Alright guys, I think you guys should get back to your dorm. It's getting dark outside." I said. I gestured out the window towards the darkening sky.

"We should do this again sometime soon! Anyways, bye, we'll see you later!" Alicia said. Both Alicia and Bella were grabbing their things and heading for the door. Just like that, I was alone in my apartment again.
