Chapter 46: An Incredible Amount Of Power

Y/N's POV

About fifteen minutes had passed since I had summoned my shield. It felt weird that everyone was looking in my direction for so long since I wasn't really doing much. Only silence and the occasional whispers were all that were heard. I was so tired, but I'm sure that they still wanted to test a few more things before the night was done. At least now Alicia knows why I always seem sleepy. Now she has the pleasure to suffer through sleepless nights with me!

After another ten minutes, Slenderman finally called it. "It seems likely now that you have no time limit on your shield. You can let your shield dissipate now."

I let my shield dissipate. I watched as EJ walked over to The Slenderman. They muttered back and forth for a couple of minutes. I was starting to feel a bit warm. It just now occurred to me that I still had my hoodie on.

I pulled the fabric of the hoodie over my head along with my arms out of the sleeves. Underneath, I had a bodyfit t-shirt on. I tied the sleeves of the hoodie around my waist. My eyes skimmed over Puppeteer. Was his face a bit darker than usual?

Just then, I heard The Slenderman speak up. "After a bit of discussion, it would be beneficial to know where you stand right now with your shield power. Let's see how many shields you can create without any dissipating. Over time and with more training, I want to see if we can expand those limits. You may begin."

Puppeteer sent a worried look my way. Why was he so worried about me?

With a sigh, I started to form my shields. Within less than a minute, I had already formed five shields. I was already exhausted, but I pushed on.

Five minutes passed, and I had formed up to nine shields. My body started shaking with over-exertion, but still, I kept going.

Another couple of minutes passed, and I had formed twelve shields. I was determined to push through the overwhelming feeling of exhaustion. Just then, I felt an incredible amount of power pass through me. My body and power reacted on it's own. For a minute, I had no idea what I was even doing.

After a minute of that incredible power, it left me. Without it, I could no longer hold my own body up. My body fell to the ground. I could barely even keep my eyes open. I wanted nothing more than to fall into a deep slumber.

"Y/N!" I heard a couple of voices shout out my name. Despite the need to rest, I stayed awake. I opened my eyes to see two blurry figures loom above me. The figures came closer as if they were kneeling down. Their faces became a bit clearer to me.

It was Alicia and Puppeteer. I guess my sudden fall worried them. "Y/N! Are you alright?" I heard a female voice, Alicia, worriedly ask.

"Can you move?" I heard a male voice ask. I tried to lift my head. I only managed to lift it a tiny bit before I gave up and let it fall back to the ground with a quiet groan. I wasn't going to move anytime soon.

Another figure entered my vision. All that I saw of their face was a dark blue blob. I assumed it was EJ. I heard him speak. "She hit the ground pretty hard. We should check to make sure there aren't any serious injuries.

I felt gloved hands lift my head. Their hands touched a certain part of my head and I whimpered slightly from pain. "Her head doesn't seem to be bleeding, which is a good sign. I can't rule out a minor concussion though. It would be wise for her to take a day of rest just to make sure she will be alright."

I heard The Slenderman's voice in the distance. "I think it's safe to say that we are done for tonight. Puppeteer, could you please help these ladies home? Also, Alicia, could you please come to the next time we test her powers? There is someone I would like you to meet."
