Chapter 44: Talking With The Slenderman

Y/N's POV

After a few minutes of silently walking, Jeff spoke up. "It was stupid of you to activate your powers in front of her, you know."

"You think I don't already know that? You've already told me that multiple times tonight." I spat at him.

"Then why did you? Why did you activate your powers?" he asked, looking back at me, still walking.

"I don't know. It was instinct, I guess." I said.

"Instinct? How could it be instinct? You've only used your powers a few times." he questioned.

"Look, I have no idea, alright?" I said, tired of talking to him.

It was then that I realized that I didn't hear any footsteps behind me. I whipped my head around, looking behind me. I sighed in relief when I saw Alicia still walking behind us. My relief turned into confusion. Why can't I hear her footsteps?

A couple minutes later, Jeff stopped walking. He looked back at us. "For a minute there, I thought your friend there stopped following us." he said looking at me. He then shifted his gaze over towards Alicia. "You're pretty light on your feet." he mumbled, barely audible.

After that, we started walking again. I decided to walk beside Alicia instead of in front of her. I wanted to check to see how she's handling this. "Are you doing alright?" I quietly asked.

"I don't know. I'm scared." she whimpered.

Jeff looked back at Alicia. "Good, you should be." he said. He gave her a creepy smirk.

"Shut it Jeff. I'll kick you from here all the way to the mansion if you don't." I warned him.

He snickered and put his hands up to show me he surrendered. He turned back around and continued walking.

I turned my attention back towards Alicia. "Just ignore him. He's an idiot." I said.

"I heard that!" Jeff nearly yelled.

"You were meant to." I said back.

"Rude..." Jeff mumbled.

We eventually made it to the mansion. We walked in and made our way towards The Slenderman's office. We knocked and walked in. The Slenderman was sitting at his desk. I felt Alicia grip my hand.

I knew that it must be frightening to see The Slenderman for the first time. I knew I was scared the first time I met him. I rubbed circles on the back of her hand with my thumb in an attempt to calm her down.

As we entered the office, The Slenderman turned towards Jeff. "Jeff, could you go grab Puppeteer? After the problem here is solved, I'm gonna have Y/N get some training in." Jeff nodded and walked out. It was now just me, Alicia, and The Slenderman in the room.

"Ladies, please, take a seat." The Slenderman said.

We took our seat in the chairs placed in front of his desk. Alicia was still tightly gripping my hand. I could feel her hand slightly shaking. I continued rubbing circles on the back of her hand.

After we took our seats, The Slenderman focused his gaze onto Alicia. We then heard him speak. "I suppose I should introduce myself. I am The Slenderman. From what I've gathered, your name is Alicia, correct?"

Alicia took a deep breath and nodded.

"Are you a friend of Y/N's?" he then asked.

Alicia nodded once again.

The Slenderman then shifted his gaze to me. "It has come to my attention that Alicia has witnessed you using your powers. Would you please explain the events that led up to you using your powers?" he asked me.

I nodded. "I got a call from Alicia. She needed a ride home from work. On my way there, she called again. She was saying that a guy in a dirty white hoodie, who turned out to be Jeff, was staring at her and she was starting to freak out. I told her that I'd be there as fast as I could. I stayed on the phone with her while I was driving. When I was almost there, Jeff started to run towards her. By that time, I was close enough that I could see a figure run across the street towards her. I told her to run towards me."

Alicia nodded with what I was saying. I continued. "I managed to get there before Jeff could hurt her. When he came at her, as if on instinct, I activated my strength power and kicked him away. He managed to get up and he came at us again. That time, I activated my shield. After that, we started arguing. That's when you came"

It was then that we heard a knock on the door. We heard Jeff speak through the door. "I found him. Can we come in?"

The Slenderman replied. "Come in."

The door opened and Jeff and The Puppeteer came in. I blushed slightly when I saw The Puppeteer, remembering the kiss. Jeff walked up and took that last remaining chair which was next to me. The Puppeteer stayed standing behind us.

Jeff spoke up. "Alright. So, what's gonna happen to her?" Jeff asked, pointing at Alicia. I almost growled at him.

After a moment of silence, The Slenderman spoke. "I have decided to let her live. I'm sure we'll find some sort of use for her. Maybe she can help Y/N with her training."

I felt Alicia's grip on my hand loosen slightly. I heard her sigh in relief.

"Well, let's get going then, shall we?" The Slenderman spoke. He then stood up from his desk and made his way over to the doors of his office. He opened the door and walked out. We all followed.

Alicia kept holding my hand as we made our way through the mansion. Both Slenderman and Puppeteer peeked their heads around once to make sure we were following. We eventually made it to the training room. I watched as Alicia's gaze focused on the holes in the wall.

Alicia pointed towards it and asked, "What's with the holes?"

I answered. "I made them when I first used my strength power." I replied pridefully.

Alicia looked at me with shock. "You're kidding..." she said in disbelief.

The Puppeteer butted his way into the conversation. "It's true. We were all shocked."

"Oh my gosh. My friend has the strength of 'The Hulk'." Alicia mumbled.

I chuckled a little at her shock. While she continued to look around the room, a familiar man in a blue mask entered the room. He walked and stood by Jeff. He whispered something to Jeff looking at Alicia. Jeff whispered something back.

Just then, we all heard The Slenderman speak. "Alright. Let's begin."
