Chapter 68

From then on, things went prettty much uphill.

Two days after Lee Ruo had been arrested, Taehyung told his mother about the sexual assault he had gone through. She shed many tears, clutching his hand tightly and peppering his forehead with kisses as she whispered "My poor baby, you kept all of this pain locked in yourself. I should have known, I should have known" over and over.

After assuring her that it wasn't her fault countless times, mother and son ended up hugging each other tightly, her assuring him that she would never let him out of her sight again. Unfortunately, that also meant keeping the door open whenever someone would come over to visit. And when he told her he would probably start dating Jungkook very soon, she wasn't very fond of the idea at first.

"Mom, I swear, he's the sweetest guy ever who treats me like royalty every time we are together! He'd rather jump off a cliff than hurt me, and same goes for me! We love each other, okay?," he had protested, his mother looking at him suspiciously.
"That's what you said about that... demon too. This is all too new for me. Try to wait at least for a bit, you can still see each other. Just not every day, and without sleepovers!," she had countered, leaving him sulking with his lips formed into a frustrated pout.

Jungkook had also not been too happy about that, how hard could it be to simply date someone who you loved and who loved you? Because yes, Jungkook and Taehyung were very much in love with each other. Not once had they ever felt things like such. They started to think of each other als soulmates, a truly lovely couple that somehow still didn't have the opportunity to be a proper couple as Taehyung didn't want to defy his mother after confiding in her with such heartbreaking information.

Taehyung also had his little 'date' with BamBam shortly after, the older offering to cancel as he felt bad for what the pink-haired boy had gone through in the past but said pink-haired boy still wanted an opportunity to thank him for creating the most decisive piece of evidence and decided to rename it as a 'friendly hangout' instead, this time an actual friendly hangout. Though Jungkook obviously wasn't all too happy about that, even he thought BamBam deserved complete redemption and reluctantly and grumpily encouraged his still almost-boyfriend to hang out with him.

The two boys decided to have a meal at McDonalds (Taehyung would've chosen Burger King, but Jungkook was extremely set on sending them anywhere but there as Burger King was their so-called special spot, their first kiss and all that...). Surprisingly, it wasn't as painfully awkward as both of them had expected it to be.

BamBam apologized many times for making Taehyung so uncomfortable in the past by flirting with him and being a little too suggestive. He did realize his mistakes soon enough and regretted them deeply, promising to never act like that again, towards anyone. He also admitted to having had a huge crush on Taehyung which wasn't all too surprising to the pink-haired boy. He decided not to ask if the crush was still on-going and tried to keep the conversation as casual and non-awkward as possible.

Every now and then, Taehyung's phone, which was lying on the table, vibrated loudly and made him slightly jolt, excusing himself in embarrassment as he laid his cheeseburger aside. Luckily, BamBam did not mind at all.
