It was just another normal, boring day of school to Jungkook when he woke up and fulfilled his daily morning routine:

Standing up, eating, freshening up, doing his hair, getting dressed, brushing his teeth, packing his back and lastly, walking to school.

When he arrived at school, everything was still normal.
The students swarming around loudly, the teachers running up and down the corridors to get to their class in time, the many people that eyed him up and down as soon as he entered the building.

Being the new student, he guessed he was still pretty talked about by everyone, but did he mind it?
Not really, he didn't even realize.
He was so preoccupied by crushing on Taehyung that he didn't even notice how popular he actually was. Damn.

When he walked down the hallway that led to his classroom, something pretty unusual happened.

Someone tapped on his shoulder from behind.

As Jungkook turned around confused since this had never happened to him, he saw a boy standing in front of him.
He was a tad shorter and had silver hair.
And he had chubby cheeks, plump lips and a piercing glare in his almond-shaped eyes.

Oh my god, he is Taehyung's weird friend! J- something! The one from the history project, I've never talked to him.

"Umm... Hi? What can I do for you?," he asked awkwardly, starting to feel a bit uncomfortable since the other was currently staring him down as if he wanted to kill him.

"Do me a favor and stay away from Taehyung," the silver-haired boy said quietly, but clearly.
Jungkook furrowed his eyebrows.

"That's not a favor I can do for you, sorry to disappoint you."
He was about to turn around and keep walking when he felt his shoulder being grabbed to hold him in place.

"Are you fucking kidding me?," the shorter boy suddenly hissed, confusing Jungkook even more.
He was starting to get offended.

"What the hell, man? You follow me all the way here to tell me to stay away from Taehyung for no reason whatsoever, which I most certainly will not! Are you fucking kidding me?!," he snapped back, making the other's already sharp glare intensify even more.

"You're not good for him, he deserves better. You will ruin him and his life with your shitty tactics." The ravenette scoffed, not believing what he was hearing.

"Who are you tell me what to do? And most importantly, who are you to make decisions for Taehyung?" He lowered his voice, now starting to get pissed. Who did this guy think he was?

"I've known him for long enough to decide what's good for him. And it's definetely not you." The silver-haired boy's voice got lower aswell.
Jungkook scoffed again, this time louder.

"Listen here, J-whatever your name is, you don't know me and you certainly don't have the right to order me around. Taehyung is not your property so don't even think about forcing him to stay away from me. We may not be friends yet but we definetely will be. Stay fucking pressed," he snapped once and for all, turning around and planning to leave again.

"My name is Jimin," he heard from behind, halting in his step.
"And I am simply giving you a piece of advice. Find someone else to mess around with but not him. You hurt him and I will fucking end you. Mark my fucking words."
Letting the anger sink through him, Jungkook inhaled and exhaled slowly and kept walking.

Why does everyone think I'm just messing around?

Taehyung was tired.

Maths had always been a very tough subject for him but this time, he felt completely lost.
Nothing seemed to add up or make sense to him, just why did it have to be so complicated?

Late-night studying was such a hassle, he hated doing it. But it seemed like he would have to do it a lot in the coming weeks.

School stress simply made him feel miserable and the only thing he needed right now was distraction.
Maybe he could ask Hoseok to sing him a Red Velvet song at lunchtime, that usually made him laugh to a point where his lungs started hurting.

Even Jimin would laugh.

Oh, Jimin.

He had become so quiet lately. Had something happened to him? Taehyung didn't want to overworry about something that may not even be that serious but he couldn't help it.

He was his best friend.

Just as he was lost in thoughts and sat back in his chair, he suddenly saw someone standing in front of his desk, looking down at him and got caught off guard for a brief moment.

Gasping, he looked up and furrowed his eyebrows as he saw who it was.
"Jungkook? Uh, hi?"

It was highly unsual for the ravenette to visit his desk just like that.
At school, their interactions consisted of nothing more than a few occasional "Hi"s and "Bye"s since they were just acquaintances, not friends.

So, Taehyung was curious about what the younger had to say.

"I need to talk to you about your friend Jimin. Please tell him to stop threatening me."
The brunette's eyebrows furrowed even more.
"Excuse me? Threaten you? I beg you, that doesn't make any sense."

"Before class, he literally came up to me and told me to stay away from you because apparently, I'm not good for you, I'm destroying your life and am just messing around. Did you tell him to say that? Haven't I proven myself that I am better than that?" The older held his hand up, signalling Jungkook to stop talking.

"I'm sorry, I don't quite understand. Jimin would never do such thing and I didn't tell him to do anything. We're on good terms, why would I?"
The younger shrugged his shoulders.

"Believe what you want but he did come at me this morning. He also told me he would end me if I ever hurt you. As if I could ever do that. But please, whatever you do, keep your friend under control?" Jungkook was about to leave when Taehyung held his wrist to prevent him from doing so.

"Wait, I do believe you. It makes sense, he doesn't seem to like you very much, sorry for that. None of the things he said are true, I'll talk to him. But please don't be mean to him, I don't think he's in a good place right now."
Now Jungkook was the one to furrow his eyebrows.

"What do you mean, he's not in a good place right now?"
The older boy sighed worriedly.
"He seems so troubled lately, as if something happened to him and he's hiding it. He says he's fine but I know him, I've known him since I was a child. He's anything but fine," he spilled all his worried onto the younger boy whose expression immediately changed, empathy taking over him.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know."
Taehyung cracked a forced smile.
"It's okay. Just don't say anything mean to him, please. He pretends not to care but actually, he gets hurt very easily." By the gloomy look on the brunette's face, Jungkook felt quite daunted and slipped his hand over his hand to cheer him up.

"Don't worry, I won't say anything to him. And please stop looking so sad, it makes me sad too. I'm sure whatever's going on with him, he will tell you when he's ready. You're his best friend after all."
Taehyung's eyes were on Jungkook's hand over his hand. Somehow, he didn't even feel an urge to pull it away.

"Thank you, Jungkook. Oh, and by the way," he spoke, suddenly remembering something.
"My aunt said we did a wonderful job at cleaning the house. She's going out again this Saturday and she was wondering if you could help again, this time, the garden and the bathroom."

The ravenette started smiling, his heart fluttering by the thought of spending another day with Taehyung. "That depends. Will you be there again?"

"Of course I will, dummy." Taehyung rolled his eyes playfully.
"Then it's a yes from me." Jungkook beamed.

"See you Saturday then, babe."
"How many times do I have to tell you to stop calling me that?"
