Mary sat in her chair on the porch with a smile on her face as she watched Steve throw the shield with Becca down on the field in front of their home. Things were quiet. Finally peaceful. Mary was still learning her abilities and what they entailed. Bucky was helping Becca train with Steve and Sam. Winnie was living life to the fullest that she could, and Jamie was simply basking in having his family back. All of them.Tony made visits, as did Stephen. They both wanted to check in on Mary, how her powers were progressing in the two weeks since Thanos had been defeated.
But throughout everyone, two people were silent with her. Well, one of the two were silent, the other was updating her every now again like he had been doing since his recovery.
"She's not talking with me much." Pietro says softly, heartbroken that he had been apart from his sister long enough to cause a rift in their unbreakable bond. "But i know she's been contemplating talking with you but she doesn't want to bring you into this."
Mary perks up as she looks at Pietro through her laptop screen resting on the porch table. "What?" Mary asks curiously. "How could I help?"
"Because you are the only person she can think of that might know the answer to her question. And you don't, then you know someone who does." Pietro explains with a sigh. "It's been two weeks since we came back, and she has not stopped looking."
"Looking? For what?"
"Not a what." Pietro corrects Mary as he looks into the camera. "A who."
"Wh- What?" Mary stammers and sits up in her chair.
"She can't find Vision, Mary." Pietro says. "There's no gravestone, no burial site for him. I've looked around the world for her and have found nothing."
Mary's eyes widen in shock and horror. She had watched Vision die, twice. And in her own grief, something happened to the man, not the synthezoid or android, but the man that had given her words of encouragement, who was a friend, and was her friend well before he became Vision. He was Jarvis before Vision. And Jarvis was precious to Mary in so many ways.
"I- I don't know what happened to his body, Pietro." Mary stammers, tears filling her newly ambered eyes as she tries to think of who might possibly know where Vision's body is. How it was treated and how it got to the place it's at. "But i'm going to find out." She states with determination and a righteous fury in her voice. "He needs to be buried."
Pietro nods on the screen and then the door to his room opens and Wanda walks in and sees Mary on the screen. "M- Mary." Wanda stammers. "Pietro..." She murmurs disapprovingly to her brother. He only shakes his head and raises his hands in defense.
"I had to, Sis." Pietro responds, "She could know someone who knows."
"I didn't want to bring her into this." Wanda says with tears in her eyes and a lump in her throat. Mary could feel the pain and grief ripping through her screen as Wanda ran her hands through her bright ginger hair. "This is my problem."
