The last time she had seen her husband was days ago in Wakanda. Nothing made sense to her about why he was in front of her. How was he here? Were their children okay? Was T'Challa okay? What about Steve and his family.Bucky smiles at his wife, finally seeing her in person and not on the tv screen in the SWORD facilities around the Hex. He wraps her in his arms tightly without saying another word. Wanda had kept her promise and let him slip into the Hex without being brainwashed to become a part of her plan and town. And had also given Mary her mind back.
"You had me worried sick, Luna." Bucky tells his wife with a kiss to Mary's temple. He was just taking in the moment of having his wife back, however short that would be. Because Bucky had no intention of staying in Westview.
Mary tightly held her husband as her eyes glowed bright amber. She could feel his emotions all at once. His fear, his adoration, his relief. "Alpha.." She whispered into his chest as they moved inside the home and Bucky shut the door. "I-"
"Wanda told me a little bit of why you're here." He explains, "When she gave SWORD their drone back." Bucky tells her. "The stone is awake."
Mary nods, her fingers resting on her temple briefly. "When Wanda, Pietro and I arrived here... she collapsed in grief and her magic- James, i'd never seen her show that much power before." She tells him, her hands rested against his chest. His metal hand caressed her cheek softly as he listens to his wife. "She has so much more possibilities with her magic than any of us thought possible."
"Like you?" Bucky asks and Mary hesitates, but eventually nods in agreement. "She said you needed to stay here until she could silence the Stone's consciousness." He reminded her. Mary nods as she and Bucky move upstairs to Mary's bedroom.
"That's right." She tells him, "It happened all so fast. Her power surrounded us and then the town. It awoke the consciousness of the Soul Stone and within those moments, Wanda and myself made a deal subconsciously through her telepathy."
"What was the deal?"
"I help Wanda grieve in a way that helps her, and she silences the Stone's consciousness like it was before." Mary explains and then she sits down on the foot of the bed, Bucky following her movements. She lifts her hand and amber wisps begin to dance around her fingers. "I can feel myself getting stronger, James." Mary tells him. "The longer i'm in here, the stronger i feel."
"Is that a good thing?" Bucky asks his wife cautiously. He wanted his wife to be more in control of her new powers. But was she getting stronger, or the Stone's consciousness the one getting stronger within Mary. The last thing he wanted was the Soul Stone taking over Mary's body and controlling her. He and Wanda both swore to stop that from happening.
