Mary stood beside her friends as she, Bruce, Steve and Nat were going to start their test runs of the time travel with Scott as the guinea pig. She was nervous, they all were. Time travel had never been done before and they had no idea if it was even going to work, or if Scott would come out of this alive. But they had to try. They just had to."Okay, here we go. Time travel test number one." Bruce said as they all stared at Scott's van which held the Quantum Realm portal in the back. "Scott, fire up the... uh... van thing." Bruce tells Scott and the Ant Man opens the back doors and they watch as the portal turns on.
"Breakers are set. Emergency generators are on standby." Steve states as he walks back to the group and stands beside his sister.
"Good, because if we blow the grid, i don't want to lose, uh, Tiny here in the 1950's." Bruce mumbles under his breath as he calibrates the board.
Scott's eyes widen and Mary snickers under her breath. "Excuse me?" Scott questions nervously.
Nat nervously laughs, "He's kidding." She looks up at Bruce, "You can't say things like that." She scolds her friend.
Bruce turns back around, realizing how bad that was to say. "It- it was- it was a bad joke." He stammers.
Scott hesitantly nods and Mary walks over to him, "But if it does happen, come find me and Steve in Brooklyn." Mary teases and Scott pales instantly.
Ant Man shakes his head and hands, trying to shake off his nerves as he walks over to his van. Nat looks over at Bruce, "You are kidding, right?" She asks under her breath.
"I have no idea. We're talking about time travel here." Bruce states back quietly. "Either it's all a joke, or none of it is." Mary smiles softly at her friends, then glances up at Steve who has a sly smile on his face from his sister's joke to Scott and then Bruce looks up at Scott and shoots him a thumbs up, "We're good!"
"Get your helmet on." Mary tells Scott using her mom voice.
"Scott, we're gonna send you back a week, let you walk around for an hour, then bring you back in ten seconds. Make sense?" Bruce explains to Scott.
Scott waves his hand and nods, "Perfectly not confusing." He states to the four of them.
"He's completely confused." Mary whispers and Steve nods but then looks at Scott.
"Good luck, Scott. You got this." Steve says reassuringly.
Scott smiles proudly and nods, "You're right. I do, Captain America." He states before he vanishes from their eyes.
Mary counts the seconds before Bruce begins to count down to bring Scott back, "On a count of three. Three-" Bruce begins to flip the switches he needs to bring Scott back and Mary grabs hold of her brother's arm nervously. "-two, one." He states and presses the last button.
