Mary stood in awe as her brother approached her and Bucky made his way down the aisle to where T'Challa and Jamie stood in anticipation. To say the wife was shocked would be an understatement. She had no idea any of this had even been planned, no one said a word to her or let it slip that this was happening. Especially the man she had talked to in the morning. M'Baku stood proudly beside Sam and Pietro along with other tribespeople from Jabariland with the biggest smile on his face.
"How-" Mary started to ask but Steve shook his head with a smile on his face. He was still in his uniform, as was his team meaning they had only just arrived today if not hours prior.
"Ask all the questions you want after, Lizzie." Steve teased his sister as Shuri came up behind Mary and pulled her out of view from Bucky and the crowd of family and friends.
"Shuri-"
"Hush, let me and Mother add the finishing touches." Shuri shushes Mary as Ramonda steps into view holding several gold jewelry in her hands. A golden and diamond encrusted leaf crown was placed on Mary's head after Shuri brushed through the woman's auburn hair. Shuri twisted Mary's hair around the back of the crown to pull it away from her face as Ramonda placed engraved bracelets around Mary's wrists.
"For the children that cannot be here, they are present on you." Ramonda states and Mary's hazel eyes widen in disbelief as she looks down at the thin golden bracelets. Her right bracelet had a ruby on either side of the name, ingcuka ebomvu, the Red Wolf, Becca. And when she looked over at her left wrist she saw a wolf's color that wasn't part of her's and Bucky's pack.
Until it hit her when she looked it over once more. Ingcuka eluhlaza, the Green Wolf. Winnie.
"T'Challa chose green for little Sarah when Sargeant Barnes asked for these to be made, green means healing and renewal." Shuri explains as she finishes up the last pieces of Mary's hair, adding small braids throughout her hair.
"It's.. I don't know what to say.." Mary stammers as Ramonda wipes Mary's hazel eyes, trying her best to avoid mascara running before she's supposed to walk down the aisle.
"Don't say anything, it was your husband's idea as well as T'Challa's input, little Sarah never was given a wolf and he wanted to rectify that. We are just the messengers." Ramonda comforts the woman she sees as a daughter with a smile. She takes Mary's hands into her own and rubs the back of her hand. Mary smiles at Ramonda and Shuri as Steve steps into their view to take his sister down the aisle for the second time in their lives.
The two siblings laugh quietly as Steve extends his arm for Mary to take, "I'm glad i get to do this again, Lizzie." Steve says softly, "For you and Buck."
The sister looks up to meet the blue eyes of her brother with her hazel ones, she can see how being on the run has aged him. His beard matured him as well and he let his hair grow out slightly, the crinkles around his eyes only defined the stress he had been placed under by being on the run constantly. She was happy he could take a rest from that life and enjoy the peace that Wakanda had gifted their family.
