Y/N POV

"You have fought bravely, Y/N." A voice boomed. I turned to try and get a good look at the owner, but couldn't. Not until he appeared in front of me. "My name is Salazar Slytherin, and I apologize."

"For leaving that purse in the school?"

"For the pain wrought by your father. He may be the Heir of one house at Hogwarts, but you are the Heir of Hogwarts itself."

"Can you explain that please? Basilisk venom is detrimental to my thinking ability." He chuckled, before waving his hand in front of my eyes and transporting us back to when the founders were still teach.

"This is about a year before the falling out I had with Godric." A whimsical look passed through his eyes, causing them to mist. "He was the brother I never had. Something that nobody realizes is that I was a proponent for those who were Muggleborn to be introduced to the Magical world at the age of five. Gryffindor didn't like it, claiming that doing such could easily lead to one leading a mass rebellion and slaughtering Wizardkind."

"Sorry to interrupt, but is there a point to all of this?"

"Yes. To put it bluntly, you're the Heir of Slytherin. But your actions show that you're not like me. Not how I was when placed under that damnable curse. As such, I feel like you deserve a few answers." He paused, giving me the smallest of smiles. "You're the Heir of Hogwarts."

"Yes yes. What does that mean?"

"That means that you embody the daring of Godric, loyalty of Helga, wit and sass of Rowena, and the ambitiousness of myself. Before we died, a warlock named Mancer broke the curse. It made me hate Muggleborns, and ended my friendship with the three others. Mancer agreed to mediate our meeting. In which, we discovered Occlumency and the ability to use memories and have them tainted."

"What did Mancer do?"

"He created a pact. One that rested upon the cat you named Shade." We're fucked. "The cat would carry on until he found someone suitable to carry the title. You."

"What does that mean?"

"It means that you will be mentored by the reincarnation of Mancer. For he was vital to our reconciliation, so he should be trusted with the one worthy."

"And that means what exactly?"

"You would call the curse I was under Imperius, correct?" I shrugged, wincing at the pain. "Well, Mancer broke it and allowed us to reconcile. But to skip the boring parts, there were two prophecies made that day. The first is known as the Founders Prophecy and has been misconstrued for years. You don't have the ability to cause a magical apocalypse. You have the ability to master certain aspects. Such as elemental magic and Occlumency. When we part, you'll have your Legilimancy abilities completely unlocked."

"Cool, but can we speed up? I'd rather not die."

"You won't. Shade has already given one of his lives for you. One that cannot be returned again. And the Phoenix tears shall mend your wound to leave just a scar. But, I will explain everything important; you can master certain aspects, while Shade will be able to receive visions from Rowena. He can figure out what to do, but overall, you two will be bonded. Which is the second prophecy. The familiar of the Castle shall bond with the Heir. But do understand something." His voice went low. "Tom Marvolo Riddle may have my blood, may be your father, but that does not make him family. Family is more than blood. Remember that. Rely on your friends. Trust your teachers. And know that we shall also be here for you. Always." With that, the Founder disappeared as everything slowly came into focus. We must be near where Ron and Lockhart are!
