Just a few things to explain: first is that MACUSA has the Department of Magical Security as their version of the Department of Law Enforcement. It covers a lot of different branches, but essentially aids them in creating reactionary forces. They come into play next book, which should be eight chapters away.

Secondly, I'm tossing around a change in plans, but it boils down to whether or not I want to do the time travel shenanigans and the TWT.

Third, due to my muse firing on all cylinders, I've got plans for an AO3 story and a discord server. Nothing is confirmed, but by December, I hope to have them set up.

Finally, this short chapter is due to me wanting to give Garnet a respectable backstory. Hope you enjoy!!!

Now, for The Forgotten Black, I've tossed a few ideas around, but one has recently started to stick out. How would you guys feel if Voldemort wasn't the antagonist for it? Essentially, he'd return but would be in such bad shape that he can't fight, so he starts acting behind the scenes to help the Death Eaters.

Harry Potter POV

"You must be Harry Potter." A man stated as I walked out of the tower. His eyes were a light grey, holding kindness and compassion within them. "My name's Garnet Black. A cousin to the person who is reportedly after you."

"What do you mean 'reportedly' after him? The bastard sicced You-Know-Who on my family!" I retorted, anger coursing through my veins. All it got was a thin smile. Y/N, Hermione, and Ron rounded the corner with their wands raised. Yet this man quickly disarmed Mione and Ron. Y/N snapped a quick shield before the spell connected.

"Good reflexes. Always be prepared to defend. That is part of why I'm here. You see, I believe that he was framed." He held his hand up before I could rage. He motioned for us to follow him to an empty room, where he quickly threw up some privacy charms. Good way to keep things private was his simple explanation, before conjuring up four seats.

"In your parents will, which had been sealed by the Wizengamot, they revealed that Sirius wasn't the Secret Keeper. Yet, there's no way to corroborate that. The only other option is dead, or at least out of the country." He started, surprising us all. I didn't realize my parents had a will. Why didn't anyone read it!?

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, your parents will states that Peter Pettigrew was the Secret Keeper. Yet he's dead or missing, which makes everything harder to prove."

"Does Dumbledore know?"

"He knows now. But he's in a worse position than before. Due to the Wizengamot sealing it without consent, the parties involved can argue that it is inadmissible to get Sirius a trial. But due to the fact that Fudge is so incompetent, the fact that the trial would be his first one would be a black mark against him."

"What!?" Hermione screeched, surprising us. "How could he not have gotten a trial!?"

"Simple. His family supported You-Know-Who. They assumed he was the same, despite evidence against it. He couldn't have faked friendship for over seven years. Not unless Fudge's administration wants to say that the government was infested with traitors since the early Sixties at best. Doing so would cause a widespread rebellion that would, undoubtedly, spread across the Channel. Which would make him into a pariah." What does that mean!? Why would the French get involved? Unless he's talking about a magical war between the two countries.

"So we're stuck in a position where the only thing that happens is the incarceration of someone who's potentially guilty?" Y/N groaned, while Harry's eyes hardened.
