Chapter 39

Dear journal,
A lots been happen for the pass
twenty-fours. For starters, being kidnapped,
is no walk in the park. I've been through a lot,
Now I bared the mark as Klaus's fully
bonded mate. I wasn't sure
what to say about it.

"Do you think you can do it" Lionel asked, my gaze shifting to Klaus who was seated in front island across from me. His gaze not once shifting the mark he created.

"I haven't been there since i moved out" he replied, finally turning to face Lionel with a blank expression. I still wasn't following what was happening. "But I'm sure, I can pass the border, leading to the forest" he added.

"Can you do it tonight" Lionel asked, pacing the room towards Elijah who was indulge in his own conversation. Turning to face Elijah he added, "Elijah and Corey will distract Larry while we take out his minions".

"Why do I have to be the bait" Corey whined, throwing a small tantrum. Mist scoffed, slapping him upside the head. "Hey!!!!" he exclaimed, snapping his head in her direction.

"Stop being a whiner and do as the man says" Mist replied, pushing herself off the sofa, modeling over to Pamela who was busy gazing out into space. She's been like that for a while and I wasn't sure why, but she kept shifting her gaze to Anaya. Maybe I was being paranoid, but she was giving her the same look Klaus gave me when we first met.

"I'm not, I was just saying" he shrugged, biting into one of the many muffin I baked back at Mist's secret garden. I found out that Corey was a fledgling meaning he could eat people food without a problem. He hadn't drank blood since he was a child seeing that he was half human. Elijah was a B class vampire, meaning he had all his abilities. Klaus was an S class vampire, he is one of the most dangerous vampires roam the earth. His bites can both paralyze and kill a person within a heart beat, along with many hidden abilities that no other vampire has.

"I'm up for it" Elijah said, pushing himself off the love seat. "But, how are we suppose to distract him, he's expecting us to bring the gem, and keep in mind, we still haven't found the stupid city gem"

"What gem" i asked, confused as all heads turn in my direction. I've heard many stories about River Valley but I have never heard of something called the city gem. Lionel, slowly paced over to my direction, not once shifting his gaze from mine.

"My dare Azaya, the city gem is the most powerful object to be placed on this earth. Its the source of River Valley and why this town still stands. If placed in the wrong hands there while be chaos" he said, staring into my soul, it was as if he was talking in riddles, as if there was a meaning behind it.

"Then if its so powerful, why not destroy it" i asked, as soon as those words left my mouth, something within Lionel changed. His gazed harden, you could the bolt of energy seeping off him in waves. Everyone tensed as his sudden mood change, unsure of what it means.

"The gem is not something you can't simply destroy, its the source of our existence, without it all supernatural being will go on a rampage" Lionel explained, turning away from me. "The mission will go as planned" he simply stated, before disappearing into thin air. Elijah scoffed, shrugging his shoulder, once Lionel was gone.

"He still didn't answer my question" Elijah complained, almost sounding like Corey. "Now what" he shrugged, slumping back down in the love seat. Klaus sighed, pushing off the island stool and made his way around the island to me. his hand snaking around my waist pulling my into his chest.

"Now, we rest up for tonight" he said, leading me out of the kitchen, as we slowly made our way up the stair I couldn't help the rush i felt going up my spin and down my hands. Even with all the extra training from my father, i still wasn't in control of the bolts of lightening rushing through my veins. "Are you okay" he asked, pulling me closer into him closing the non-existing distance between us.

"I'm still having those surges" I said, running my hands along my arm. We were right outside my door when he stop, turning me to face him. His worried gaze scanning my body. I flushed, turning my face away from his line of view. Even though we did the naught, i was still self conscious about my body. I guess I'll never get use to it.

"Does it hurt" he asked softly, using his thumb to caress my forearm. I knew he was only asking for my sack. Were mated for crying out loud, he could feel my pain. Are does that only work for werewolves?? I shook my head in response, twisting knob, pushing my door open to reveal the comfort of my room. "You've been through a lot, you need to rest" he said, helping me into bed. I wanted to protest but my droopy eyes betrayed me as soon as my head hit the pillow. the last thing I left was bed dipping and being pulled into Klaus.

DREAM

"Azaya" a ghostly voice called out, pulling me into the scene. i was surrounded by white walls and wooden barriers. Soft cries and silent mumbles was all that could be heard. "I'm sorry, but one of the girls won't make it" a man's voice said, a shadowy figure soon appeared beside my barrier, gazing down at me. Somehow it felt like I knew the man.

"You will not die my dare" he whispered, his ghostly voice echoing through my mind. His radiant baby blue eyes was all i could see, that looked almost familiar. I watched as he reached down through the barrier, his hand hovering over my chest. In his hand was a glowing zircon gem. "You are the future, and you will under stand that soon enough" was the last thing he said, before my body was over come with unbearable pain.

"Azaya..Azaya baby wake up" I shot up, screaming at the top of my lungs with sweat pouring down my fragile face. "It's just a dream baby, your okay....your okay" he cooed, rubbing circles in my lower back to calm me.
