Dear journal
Today's been awesome. Except for the fact that I hid my aunt's kitchen under all that pastry. For the first time, I got to hang out with kids my own age. I went to the mall, eat froyo with Klaus and the others. We even went shopping. I've never been to the mall before. It was extremely fun and Mist said we could go again tomorrow, then head somewhere called the race track. Then we'd have a girls night at her place. I'm not sure sure if aunt will make me go though. I know she's not anything like my mom. But I'll have to try. In other news. Grandpapi is here, an he's helping with my powers. He said I was a kitsune. It runs in the family, but my powers don't. The water element has been in my family for many years. But I didn't get it. I got lightening. Tonight, he's going to find out how powerful I am. I hope I only have three tails like he said. God knows I don't want to be over six. I can't even handle my thoughts, how would I manage having more than five tails.A soft knock on my door pulled me from my thoughts. Closing my journal setting it aside, I got up opening the door to see my aunt standing there with a slice of cake.
"Cake" she offered with a smile, I giggle, taking the cake I walked over to my bed with my aunt following not too far behind. "We need to talk" she sighed, plopping down on the bed beside me. Looking down at the cake, knowing exactly what she wanted to talk about. "I know you think, just because your here you don't have free will. But you do, Azaya your a teenager. Your mom might not treat you like you are, but you are and you have all rights to go out into the world and explore" she explained.
I guess I don't know what she wanted to say. She was actually telling me that I could go out anytime I want. My mom wouldn't allow this. She would of kept me locked up in my room like Fiona from Shrek. But my aunt wanted me to go and have fun.
"Really, so that means I can go to Mist's sleep over and to the mall again, and the race track with Mist and the others" I rambled excitedly, bouncing up and down in my bed. She chuckle, nodding her head.
"Of course, the only rule is to be safe, and no sex" she said rushing out the last part. I cringe in disgust at her word. Sex and me, no way. "Other than that, just enjoy yourself. Oh and decorate your room, it looks like your mom's old nineties collection" she said, looking around the room in horror. I guess this to could use a little Azaya touch. Minus the lightening.
"Can I buy a few things from the mall tomorrow" I asked shyly, glancing around the old ninetys decor.
"Of course, buy new furniture and whatever just redecorate this old room, now finish that cake and meet papi round the back, he's ready for you" she said, kissing my temples, pushing herself up from my bed an walked out of the room. Pushing myself up off the bed, my eyes lingering around the room for a bit.
I guess the old room needed a few new touches. Like the old rusty vanity with a few holes in the draws, and no mirror. The old book shelf was practically taking up dust at this point. With old record labels and figurines covered in dust. There wasn't even a television in here.
Releasing a breath, I began to take small bites of my cake while heading downstairs to meet grandpapi outside. After resting the empty plate in the sink I made my way out back. To my surprise, grandpapi was standing beside the old shed, knocking on the old door.
"What are you doing grandpapi" I asked once I was close enough. He didn't answer, he just kept knocking random parts of the shed. Until eventually, something happened. One of the small boards shifted, revealing a hand scanner. What was a scanner doing on an old shed.
"Ahh, I knew it" grandpapi said, pressing his palm against the scanner. The scanner was quick to scan his hand. It quickly turned green causing the door of the shed to open as the scanner disappears. "Come along now" grandpapi said, interrupting my shocked look.
As we entered the shed, the door automatically closed behind us. I starred dumbfounded by what I was looking at. It was just an old shed filled with old rusted garden supplies, hay and cob webs. I don't see why this old place needs a scanner, unless your trying to hide old rusty wheelbarrows and watering cans.
I heard a small soft click, I could feel the ground beneath me shaking as the ground started to finally swallow me. Talk about bad timing. I gasped, watching in shock as the ground actually swallows me. Bringing me down into complete darkness. Is this what underground looks like.
"Come" I heard grandpapi say, but I was completely blind to wherever I'm suppose to be going. So I did what any sane person would do. No I didn't stand there like an idiot, I'd just look stupid. Instead, I began to walk into the unknown like Elsa from frozen two. I could feel the surges rushing through me again. After landing on my ass a few times. I decided to stay put like the insane person I am.
"Can you give me a charge, it seems the generator is out of juice" I heard him say, as something was placed on my stomach. How can he see so well down here. I'm literally sitting docks over here.
"I can blow a bulb" I told him, looking up into absolutely nothing.
"Just breath slowly, channeling some of your energy into the box" he told me calmly. I nod even though I wasn't sure if he could see me. Slowly down my breathing a bit, trying to control the surge rushing through me. "Concentrate, feel the energy flow within" I nod. He still can't see me.
I didn't even realize my eyes were closed until I saw a faint white Light. My eyes finally open, my mouth gapping at the sight. Electron volts were surrounding my hands, beating around my hand like a heartbeat. Looking down at my stomach, I grabbed the box that was laying on my stomach. The volts began to surround it, charging it up.
Throwing it up, I saw a hand catch it. Not long after, the lights came on, an I was in awe. I felt like I stepped in a batman movie. There were large computers, hanging on the walls with multi virtual keyboards an holograms on the dashboard below each screen. There were snack bars, robotic arms, robots and a monitor with a view of every street and alley in the city.
"Welcome to the training chamber, this is where you'll meet me every night to train. Tonight, were just going to work on your breathing since it's getting late and I'm too old to miss my nap time" he said, leading me towards a short staircase that led to a training area. "Sit" he said, pointing to the mat. I nod sitting criss cross apple sauce like in my dream.
Here we go
