It was mind rattling even for them. His words made no sense, no difference to the situation at hand. They all held Shocked and confused expression unsure of what to say in the current situation.
The clock was ticking, and they were still miles away from figuring out Lionel's riddle.
With only one question on their mind, who could the gem be??
"This isn't helping anything" Klaus finally spoke in frustration.
"I agree" Ryan began, turning to face Lionel. "That doesn't help bring my daughter's home"
"Say we.. find this person.... We can't just hand over an innocent person to him, we'd be just as bad as him" Elijah stated, grabbing everyone's attention. Rita nods in agreement, turning towards Lionel with a grim expression.
"He's right you know" she said, "we can't just hand over-"
"But you can't hand over what you don't have" Lionel stated bluntly, interrupting Rita's rant.
"Exactly, so-"
"However" he injected, once again interrupting her. This time he was facing Klaus. "you can break the bond" pointing the mark on Klaus's neck. It was the mark of his bond to his father. The reason he had to listen to every word of such a demon.
"That's impossible" Klaus shook his head in denial. He knew for a fact that the bond can't be broken. He's tried countless times, using even the strongest of witches and warlocks but still nothing has worked.
"Nothings impossible" he smiled softly, tapping his chest just inches above his heart.
"Well this is...... I've tried everything, nothing works" Klaus all but yelled, releasing a heavy sigh as his fingers danced through his curls. Lionel sighed, gesturing for them to take a walk. Without protest he walked off, leaving the kitchen without another word of objection.
"Like I said before.... nothing is impossible" he began once they were at a safe distance.
"Why are you so hellbent on this" Klaus asked, getting annoyed by the subject. Lionel smirked, leaning back as he spoke.
"Because....I know how to break the bond" that was all he needed to say to grab Klaus's undivided attention.
Back in the living room, Duran couldn't help the death glare he held directly at Harlem, who was comforting Ryan as she sobbed. He wanted nothing more than to hold her close to him. But with everything that had happened he wanted nothing more than to resent her for the rest of his life. But his fox wouldn't allow him to.
"Do you think it's too soon if I asked him for that Danish" Corey asked in a whisper, leaning closer to Elijah so he could ear him well. Elijah glanced in the direction Corey was pointing, where he saw Duran squeezing the Danish into dust.
"With the way he's juicing it..." Titling his head a bit "I don't think so" shaking his head, giving Corey a curious side eye. Corey groaned aloud plopping back into the chair.
"Your a vampire how come you eat so much people food" Rita ask, sliding a plate of pasta salad and raw steak Infront of him.
"I'm a Feldglin" he replied thankfully with a wide grin, grabbing the plate of pasta and dug in.
"No one cares about his eating habits... I want to know how you plan on getting my daughter's back you ingrates" Ryan yelled, pushing from Harlem's hold. Glaring daggers at Duran and the two vampires present in the room.
"Watch it lady" Elijah hissed, his light brown orbs turning a dark shade of red as he took a step closer to her.
"Their my daughter's too. If you've forgotten" Duran snapped, glaring daggers at her. Ignoring his fox's protest to stand by his mate.
"Yeah, and the one time you finally get to take care of them you lose them.... doesn't that say something about your parenting skills" Harlem growled, taking a protective stance Infront of Ryan with clutched fists.
Duran scoffed, shaking his head. His fox pleading with him to forgive their mate. But it was hard to forgive and forget when she kept reminding him why he hated every being in her small body.
"He's just keeps getting more and more interesting" Sammy said under his breath, walking over to the patio door, pulling the curtain's to reveal the backyard.
"You better stay out of this" Duran growled, pointing at him menacingly. Harlem released a dry chuckle, shaking his head.
"What's wrong, can't stand the fact that I got what you wanted, again-"
"Shut up" Elijah whispered, listening closely to the howling wind.
"Don't you dare-" but before Ryan could finish, a hand clasped over her mouth.
"Shush" Corey shushed, holding up his pointer finger as he tuned in to his surroundings. The sound of snapping twigs and gushing wind could be hair along with silent hissing. Using his speed, with Elijah not too far behind. They ran to the front.
"Klaus" Elijah exclaimed, trying to pry him off who so ever he was strangling. After what felt like eternity, they had successfully pried him away from his next victim.
"Jeremiah" Corey hissed, glaring daggers at him. Jeremiah coughed, spitting blood on the pavement.
"You better have a good reason to be here" Elijah hissed, trying his best to hold Klaus back. Klaus hissed, trying his hardest to push past Elijah, his once beautiful golden eyes, replaced by the eyes of his demon.
"I say we let Klaus tear him apart" Corey hissed, pacing his way around Jeremiah who was still sitting on the pavement holding his throat.
"Please just let me explain" Jeremiah begged, breathing heavily.
"Explain fast, cause if he passes Elijah your dead, and I won't give a shit" Corey said bluntly, crossing his arms.
"I get it okay, you want to kill me. But Larry's lost his mind. He's planning to go after mom" Jeremiah explained. Klaus almost lost it, Elijah stood there lost in his own world with Jeremiah's words replaying his head.
"Why, he already has our mate, why is he going to this length" Corey asked softly, shaking his head.
Why??
That's all they want to know. Why?? Go after her."Because they escaped" Klaus gazed up at him in shock. His mate was free. She was away from danger, and that calmed him enough to put his demon at bay.
"She's free" he breathed out, he knew she wasn't by his side at the moment. But it was better than knowing she was stuck in a dungeon being tortured. Knowing she had the girls to keep her safe.
"Misty" Corey breathed out, as the portal opened up behind Elijah. Her tall peppy figure jumped out of the portal panting, her eyes held worry, confusion and exhaustion. Her words came out in one breath as Klaus held his.
"Klaus, it's Azaya"
