Chapter 3 - Shieldon Mission

A/N: This chapter has a connection to the Shieldon Episode from DP. <3

~ Gary's POV ~
I woke up and got told there was a mission for me to go protect a couple go Shieldon who some Pokémon Hunter had been following around for who knows what scheme

So I quickly got dressed in my regular clothes and attached my PokéGear to my wrist as well as my pouch on my hip
I was getting all my things ready when Ashy woke up and blinked
"good morning buddy, I got a mission to go attend you want to stay or come?" I smiled packing some extra clothes if anything
"Pika Pi!!!" he nodded determined
I smiled
"k hop on" I extended my arm which he gladly hopped onto my shoulder and we were on our way
I gave him a quick tickle on his chin making him giggle and left to my Jeep

I put him on the passenger seat but since he's small he wasn't able to get the seatbelt fully on him so I put a random box for him to sit on them buckled him up
he looked at me blinking and he looked so cute buckled up in my passenger seat
I smiled and bopped him on the nose, then quickly went to my seat and started driving to where I had to go

Once we got there I took Ash's hat off
"we may be doing lots of running, so I don't want your hat to fly away" I smiled and he nodded agreeing as he climbed onto my shoulder and then I took Umbreon out of his Pokéball

When we were with the Shieldon Ashy was helping me protect them which was good he acted like extra protection in a way
but I made a wrong move and the Shieldon got token away from me from that stupid Pokémon Hunter
I was basically devastated when I couldn't find a trace of them and stepped out of the car for a bit and Ashy followed me
he was talking to me but I was just so mad at myself

I didn't want to take out on Ashy so I punched my Jeep leaving a dent on it
and Ashy climbed onto my shoulder talking and talking
"I'm sorry, I'm just frustrated" I sighed biting my lip with a little bit of tears in my eyes
"Pika Pi" he frowned licking my cheek
"I'm sorry again buddy" I sighed
he wiped my tears with his paws
"Pika Pika Pikachu" he smiled
"you're right, let's go" I nodded after taking a deep breath
and got back in the Jeep and started searching once more

Once we found them we snuck into the headquarters they had and I disguised us both in black clothing like the people in this headquarters are dressed
we thankfully blended in and then found the Shieldon and we unfroze them
and . . .
that's when we got caught and we just ran out with the Shieldon behind us
then Zubat came out of nowhere making me go a random direction

I smiled when seeing an exit and walked out feeling accomplished
"mission accomplished Ashy!!" I turned to not see him next to me
"Ashy?!?" I panicked not seeing him nor the Shieldon
"fuck" I muttered going back inside

~ Ash's POV ~
I was running and running and one of Shieldon used Ancient Power and the Zubat flew away
that's when we all took a breath and I noticed Gary wasn't here
"Pika Pi!!!!!" I yelled calling for Gary
"are you calling for that cute boy?" one of the Shieldon asked me
I blinked surprised I could understand what it was saying
"yes" I nodded
"he probably went the opposite direction" another Shieldon said
"maybe" I blinked

"ah well well finally you're all alone and not with that annoying ranger" the Pokémon Hunter smiled
"oh no" I blinked and before anything I told the Shieldon to attack with Ancient Power which they thankfully obeyed and we ran to an exit and we all got out of there in one piece but we were panting out of tiredness

"Ashy?!? Shieldon?!?" I heard Gary and looked around and saw him across from where we were
"Pika Pi!!!!" I ran towards him with the Shieldon
his expression softened and turned into relief
"Ashy! Shieldon!" he extended his arms and the four of us tackled him to the ground and he chuckled
"I was so worried for you all" he hugged us all

"are you all okay?" he smiled softly
"Pika" I nodded he smiled and hugged us all again

"k let's go get the Shieldon to safety" he smiled at me as I nodded

We went back to the place Gary was talking about and I climbed onto his shoulder and he took the Shieldon with these other people, the sun started setting and they offered us to stay so we did

"Ashy? You awake?" I heard Gary say
I lifted my head and nodded
"I just wanted to say sorry for snapping earlier, I'm sorry if I scared you" he smiled softly
he didn't exactly scare me, he worried me to be exact
"Pika Pika" I smiled assuring him it's was okay
he smiled petting me
"I should fix that dent I left" he chuckled which made me chuckle too and after that just like always I slept in Gary's arms warm and comfortable as ever.
