– Time Skip To The Next Day –
~ 3rd Person POV ~
"hey Gary!" Ash grinned childishly
"hey, how you doing babe?" Gary smiled
"good! I got my first badge!" he giggled
"really? Let's see??" Gary smiled
"here's the thing, Gardenia said she wanted to train them first and then give me my badge" Ash smiled
"hm" Gary's expression turned to serious and worried
"something wrong?" Ash tilted his head
"that's just weird, gym leaders never do that . . . " Gary frowned
"really?" Ash bit his lip
Gary gave off a nod
"oh no" Ash frowned
"hey I'm sure it's all fine" Gary sighed
"if Gardenia said she'd train them then I guess that's what she'll do" Gary shrugged
"I-I should pick them up" he got up from the bed he was lying in
"it'll be okay Ash okay?" Gary smiled
"just call me if anything" he added
"I will" he smiled worryingly
"you think the twerp will catch on?" Meowth said as he kept watching the three; Pichu, Aipom and Buneary
"nah I don't think so remember he thinks I'm Gardenia" Jessie chuckled as the the trio was going on plan
"that's weird, where's the gym from yesterday??" Ash looked for the colorful gym but instead saw a plain building which went inside and saw a brunette feeding some grass Pokémon, he decided to ask since he couldn't spot the gun form the day before
"uhm excuse me?" Ash smiled
"yes?" the brunette smiled
"do you know where the Gardenia's gym is?" the boy smiled
"it's here, I'm Gardenia" the woman chuckled smiling
"what?" the boy tilted his head
"something wrong?" the gym leader blinked at the boy
"I came here yesterday and challenged and won but I–" the boy took a deep breath frustrated
"you said you would train my Pokémon" he finished
"that can't be, I wasn't in the gym yesterday" she looked at him
concerned
"what?!?" the boy looked like he wanted to break down
"it's going to be okay, I'll help you look for your Pokémon and to find out who was disguising themselves as me" Gardenia said as, she and Ash were on their way to look for the culprits for kidnapping Pichu, Aipom and Buneary
As the pair searched and searched there was no sight of the three Pokémon
Ash would've called Gary but he knew he'd only worry the researcher and also grow his own anxiety
Meanwhile with Team Rocket
"the best part is we have more than just these three at headquarters, remember that Scizor we caught?" Meowth snickered
"oh yes we are so gonna be the bosses favorite after this!" James said excitedly
While Ash and Gardenia were asking around to see if anyone had seen the trio everyone would say they didn't
"oh man" Ash frowned
"don't worry it'll be fine" Gardinea smiled as Ash nodded then her phone rang
"hello?" she blinked
Ash just looked at her until she finished her call
"well it seems your not the only one" Gardenia sighed
"it looks like there's many trainers who have lost their Pokémon to the imposters" she added with another sigh
After hours of searching they went back to the gym where Gardenia told Ash along with a couple other trainers they'd receive their Pokémon soon, safe and sound
Most of the trainers went home but one in particular stayed with Ash and Gardenia, her name was Minnie and Team Rocket too had token her Pokémon but only one which was a Scizor
"I'm so sorry this happened" the gym leader sighed as the three walked through her gym
"it's not your fault, I take part of the blame I should've known to not go into a place that looked suspicious to me" Minnie smiled understandably
"me too" Ash smiled
Gardenia smiled and was going to say something but got cut off
"well maybe you'll find them soon" a person snickered
"huh?" both Ash and Gardenia turned to see Team Rocket
"prepare for trouble" they all started
"okay okay we get it Jessie, James, and Meowth" Ash rolled his eyes
"we don't interrupt you twerp!" Jessie snapped
"I'm looking for my Pichu, Aipom and Buneary okay? I don't have time to mess around" Ash scowled
"you know those people Ash?" the gym leader blinked as well as Minnie
"yes, they've tried to steal my Pokémon before" he replied as the gym leader was in shock as well as the other trainer
