– Time Skip A Week –
~ Ash's POV ~
I won my Snowpoint City gym badge the other day which was amazing, Monferno was a big help in all honesty
Candice is such an interesting person, she's so bubbly and hilarious, she also gave me some nice clothes because man I so cold here
anyways, Zoey is also here since Snowpoint City it's her hometown and she happens to be visiting
Now I'm getting ready for my Lake Acuity battle with Paul, won't lie but I'm very nervous yet excited . . .
"thanks for the ride Candice" I smiled as she smiled at me
"no problem Ash!" she smiled
"try to not be nervous Ash I'm sure it'll all turn out great!" Zoey smiled at me
"yeah of course! Thanks" I took a deep breath and had a determined look in my face as Pichu perked up
"we'll win I'm sure of it!" I said as Pichu nodded
"Pichu!" he chirped
"hey Ash!" Reggie smiled waving at me as I smiled back
"hey!" I smiled
"hey Paul" I mumbled
"hm hey" he replied
"uh let's get started!" Reggie chuckled nervously as we both nodded and got started
~ 3rd Person POV ~
"Eevee Shadow Ball!" Ash called out
"Eevee!" the Evolution Pokémon obeyed
the two had already been through two battle rounds and Ash was losing so far
"Electabuzz Thunder" Paul called out as the thunder dissolved the Shadow Ball
"Ele!" the Electric Pokémon said hitting Ash's Eevee directly and making her fall unconscious
"Eevee is unable to battle, Electabuzz wins this round" Reggie said as Ash went to Eevee
"you okay?" he frowned as Eevee sighed and nodded with a smile
"rest, you did amazing" Ash returned her and took a deep breath
"Monferno let's go!" Ash called out as Paul returned Electabuzz
"Ursaring stand by for battle" he said taking out the Normal-Type Pokémon came out with a growl
"Ursaring!"
"okay, Monferno Maud Punch!" Ash called out
"Ursaring use Earthquake" Paul said throwing the Fire-Type Pokémon off
"Monferno you okay?" Ash said as the Monferno turned to him with a determined smile
'he's really grown . . . ' Ash thought to himself proudly
"okay, Monferno use dig!" Ash said
"hm, Ursaring Thunder Punch onto the ground" Paul said as Monferno got electrocuted but it wasn't so weakened
After another couple battles they reached the last battle
"Ready Pichu!" the ravenette said as Pichu hopped onto the battlefield
"Pichu's in!" Team Rocket in disguise said as they typed it into the screen
"you think he will handle that Electabuzz?" James blinked
"sure he will, that Pichu is something else" Meowth replied
"hm, but still I hope he wins because of what he did to Chimmy" Jessie muttered
A/N: Ok ok but i love how Team Rocket was Infernape's biggest fans in the anime. 😂
anyways–
"Pichu use Thunderbolt!" Ash said
"Pichu!" Pichu said
"thanks for the energy" Paul chuckled as Ash knew he messed up
"alright Electabuzz let's use Maud Punch" Paul smiled as the Electabuzz obeyed
"quick dodge!" Ash bit his lip but Pichu wasn't fast enough and got hit
"keep using Maud Punch" Paul said as the Electric Pokémon did as the trainer said
After many more Maud Punch's Pichu grew tired
'what do I do?!?' Ash thought to himself
suddenly he thought about his boyfriend who he was sure wouldn't discourage him, he'd motivate him that's when the ravenette took a deep breath
'calm down it'll be fine' he thought to himself once more
"Pichu jump in the hole Monferno made!" Ash said as Pichu did so
"now use Thunder Bolt once more!" Ash said as the Thunder Bold hit Electabuzz which did do some damage since the Electric Pokémon was getting tired as well
"okay Pichu hop out the hole and use Tail Whip!" Ash called out as Paul had a plan
When Pichu reached Electabuzz's level of reach Paul took action
"Maud Punch!" he said as the attack hit Pichu directly which wasn't a good thing since it was one of Pichu's weaknesses
"P-Pichu no!" Ash yelled as the Pichu fell onto the ground very weak
"Pichu . . . ?" Ash whispered
"and you said you weren't pathetic" the purple haired trainer gave off an amused chuckle as Ash frowned
'he has a point . . . ' he thought
"Pichu!" Pichu yelled as Electric waves shot out of him
"w-what's happening?!?" Ash said worryingly
"L-Lighting Rod" Reggie mumbled to Candice
"Lighting Rod?" the Ice-Type Gym Leader questioned
"it's Pichu's special ability . . . " Reggie explained
"is it a good thing?" Zoey blinked
"it can be . . . if Ash handles it correctly . . . " Reggie said as the redhead once again focused on the battle
"Pichu!" Pichu looked recharged making Ash smile
"okay, tackle" Ash said
"Electabuzz keep dodging until he gets tried once again" Paul smiled
"Pichu!" Ash yelled as the baby Pokémon crashed into the ground
"Pichu!" Pichu yelled as a glow occupied him and to Ash he seemed to be growing . . .
"Pichu . . . ?" Ash blinked
