Chapter 4 - Special Onix

A/N: Sorry for not updating I've been catching up with school lately. 😂💕

~ 3rd Person POV ~
Ash was lying on Gary's bed blinking and just bored the ranger had gone out to his ice cream date with Misty
leaving Ash completely annoyed

Meanwhile Gary was walking around with Misty enjoying their ice cream and just walking around a mall
"so anything interesting going on?" the redhead turned to the auburn
"nah, but I did find a nice Pikachu the other day though" he smiled
"oh cool" she nodded

~ Gary's POV ~
After our ice cream Misty invited me to her house for a movie which I accepted since I've known Misty my whole life almost and lately since I started balancing two careers I haven't really spent much time with her since

We were at her house and watching the movie and eating popcorn and some pizza
after finishing we just kept watching the movie and just in silence

That was until she leaned on my shoulder I didn't mind until she started cuddling me
"Mist come on" I laughed nervously getting out of her grip
"what?" she blinked
"never mind" I shook my head
after a bit it started happening again
"Misty" I sighed scooting away from her

"are you not looking for a relationship to something?" she frowned
"haven't thought about it" I replied
"oh well I have, and I want a relationship" she replied grabbing my hand
"with you" she said
I cleared my throat and started bouncing my leg
"look Mist–" I stopped when she straddled me and tried kissing me but I moved my face making her kiss my neck
"what's wrong?" she pulled back
"Misty I'm saving my first kiss for someone special and–" she cut me off

"I'm not that person" she bit her lip
I nodded
"the truth is . . . I don't know how you'll react . . . " I scratched the back of my neck, looking down
"react to what?" she lifted my chin
"I-I don't like . . . " I gulped
"don't like what?" she blinked
"girls" I gulped once more
"what?!?" she covered her mouth and getting off of me
"yeah . . . I like guys" I bit my lip hesitantly

"but you had a crush on–" I cut her off
"that was way before I started exploring my sexuality" I blinked
"what? You make no sense" she shook her head
"look the more I grew, the more I realized girls weren't for me okay?" I replied
she looked zoned out
"I gotta get back home" I sighed getting up and leaving
"but the mo–" I cut her off
"you need space" I smiled and left

I got some noodles for Ashy and Crystal since the researchers were gonna be out today on who knows what but anyways
I got to the lab and sure enough Crystal and Ashy were watching TV
"finally you're back! And with food! You already know Dara doesn't let me turn on the stove or even the microwave!" Crystal chuckled
"yup" I chuckled back as I signaled Ashy to come in my arms which he did
"you hungry boy? I got you some meatball noodles" I smiled and saw how his eyes sparkled
"wow!!!! You got my favorite!!! Shrimp noodles!" Crystal giggled
"well you're picky, and that's the only noodles you like" I blinked
"shut up Oak" she got on a stool to reach the cabinet with plastic forks

I opened Ashy's and put in a bowl and he ate very messy it was adorable
I also ate my noodles and continued watching TV until
"sooooooo???" Crystal cooed
"so what?" I raised an eyebrow
"tell me your date with Misty, I mean did you tell her you're" she made a hand gesture
"Crystal" I glared

~ Ash's POV ~
I watched as Crystal made that hand gesture and I exactly knew what she meant
and I couldn't help but yell in my head
Gary's gay?!?
not that I'm one to judge but I'd think he'd be straight

I in the other hand, I never really explored my sexuality till now that I've met Gary it's made me think about it a lot since I'm obviously attracted to him
in fact I don't think I've ever been attracted to a girl

"something wrong boy?" Gary patted my head
I shook my head and continued eating and listened to his conversation with Crystal
"I told her but I don't think she took it the right way" he poked his noodles
"meh who cares?? I mean us here in the lab accept you" Crystal grinned
"I know, thanks" he smiled
"but still I think you should start looking for someone to have you head over heals for" she winked with giggle
"Crystal no" Gary covered his face with his hand attempting to hide his blush
I smiled, I hope I turn into human soon because I'd like to be that person

I admire him a lot . . .

A/N: this part of this chapter has similarities to the episode in Rival Destinies where Dawn returns and they look for a Special Onix
(I dunno what the episode is called 😂)

I felt someone shaking me lightly and I groaned
"pika?" I blinked
"good morning buddy, I got another mission if you wanna stay that's fine I'll see you later" he smiled turning to leave
I shook my head and hopped onto his shoulder
he chuckled
"let's go" he smiled

"today we'll see a special Onix Ashy, I'm so excited" he smiled driving
I nodded excitedly and looked out the window
we snuck up in the bushes and watched all the Onix
"okay, all we gotta do is make sure no one bothers them because the special Onix is somewhere around there and even if we don't see it, it's somewhere there" Gary smiled watching all the Onix

~ 3rd Person POV ~
As Gary and Ash continued watching the Onix and eating
"this is interesting don't you think? We get to see how Onix live their lives" Gary smiled taking a bite of his sandwich
Ash replied with glee and taking another piece of Pokémon food in his mouth

After another couple minutes as the pair finished eating there suddenly was rustling in the bushes and a red head with a Chespin on her shoulder popped out and tripped
"ow!" she giggled
"oh hi, Mairin's my name and this is Chespi!!" she smiled brightly
"uh hi, my names Gary this is Ashy" the auburn pet Ash
the redhead smiled and got out some binoculars and started searching through the Onix's
"I'm here to catch a special Onix! I've heard of it in town and I'd love catch it" she giggled
"but it's better off in the wild" Gary blinked
"why do you say that?" the redhead raised an eyebrow
"because it's unique and it's should be free" Gary smiled
"nahhh" the girl waved a hand around and started getting closer to the Onix's
"be careful! Onix are dangerous" Gary whispered enough for Mairin to hear
"oh calm down!" she stoned making herself noticeable to the Onix
"uh oh" she blinks as the Onix started roaring and chasing the redhead along with Gary and Ash
"Ashy! Hop on!" Gary called out as Ash obeyed
while running Mairin tripped falling on her face
"ow!" she called out
Gary slowed down and set her on his back carrying her to safety

They all took a break taking a breath
"that was close" Mairin huffed
"it was your fault kid" Gary rolled his eyes
"I'm not a kid!" she pouted
"you're like 10 calm down" Gary laughed
"I'm 14 thank you very much!" she crossed her arms pouting
"whatever" the auburn rolled his eyes

With more scanning through the Onix's something caught Gary's eye
"Ashy, Mairin look" he pointed at a green Onix
"it's the special Onix!!!" Mairin's eyes sparkled
"don't try catching it okay Mairin" Gary glared at the girl
"nah, I won't" she smiled shaking her head
"good" Gary smiled
"look a Salamance!!!" she gasped
"wait . . . " Gary squinted and realized it was a Pokémon he had encountered before
"Hunter Jay" he said under his breath
"Hunter wha?" Mairin tilted her head
"it's a Pokémon Hunter" Gary bit his lip

~ Ash's POV ~
As you can guess the Pokémon Hunter tried catching that special Onix thankfully we were there and of course it's taking a bit of battling and running of course I was behind with Mairin since the poor girl isn't the best runner and falls behind a lot and I just keep up with her so she won't get lost and for protection although I can't use any attacks

Mairin was panting and panting and exhausted
"pika pi" I blinked at her while running
"I'm fine! Man Gary runs fast!" she chuckled exhaustedly
we kept running and eventually we were able to get the Onix out of the Hunter's grasp

"I better get going" Mairin smiled at Gary and I
"bye Mairin take care" Gary smiled
"Pika" I waved
"bye Ashy" she pet me as Chespi waved at me as I did the same

"finally home" Gary sighed lying down
I giggled at his expression
"goodnight Ashy" he pet me
"Pika pi" I smiled as we fell asleep.
