If anyone asked me what that movie was about, I don't think I could have told them a single thing.
I spent the whole hour and forty sevem minutes wallowing in a tornado of endless jealousy, anger and sadness. I just wanted to leave amd curl up into a ball and read the faults in our stars so that if people asked me why I was sad, I could just show them the book and they'd leave me alone.
However this was not the case.
Instead, I was left at the back of the group behind the boys wrestling whilst Ally and Daisy skipped ahead linking arms like two little pixies that are super cute until you realise they are plotting to rip your heart out and shred it into a million peices.
"Anyone wanna lift?" Shouted Hayes, jerking me out of my pessimistic state.
"Are you even aloud to drive?" Cam asked, "your barely sixteen bro."
"Well hopefully no one will notice that if we drive past them" was Hayes' cocky reply with a wink.
"Sure, why not?" Said Ally, "it'll be a bit of a squeeze though."
"That's okay, I don't mind if no one else does." Said Daisy, of course she doesn't because Daisy is a freaking goddess of selflessness.
They all headed to the car, but me feet were unresponsive, instead of walking with the group they stayed planted on the spot.
"Mils, you comin'?" Nash called, only half in the car.
"No, actually I'd rather walk." I replied stiffly, then I walked in the direction of home. What the hell am I playing at?
I heard the car door slam and figured they'd driven off, but I didn't bother checking.
"Mils!" Came a boys voice, but I continued stomping ahead. "Amelia!"
Nash was calling after me, I turned to look at him and felt a drop of rain fall onto my nose.
"What?" I spat back. Why am I being such a bitch? I'm not mad at Nash. Hell, I'm not mad at anyone, I just can't shake the coat of self loathing that had attached itself to my body.
Nash stopped dead in his tracks a few steps away from me. "What's wrong?" He asked, the rain was heavier now, attacking my skin like tiny daggers.
"What?" I repeated, although I knew what he was talking about, I just could not be bothered with the confrontation.
"You're acting like a bitch, so I wanted to know what's wrong." He said, his eyebrows drawn together in concern. That just irritated me even more.
Who the hell is he to tell me how to act?
"What are you talking about? I'm acting completely normal! So now not wanting to get in a car with your underage brother and my ex-friend means there's something wrong with me?" I demanded, flicking my damp hair from my face.
"What?" He looked so confused and innocent, but I wasn't going to stop there,it felt good to let all my worries go, even if I was being completely irrational;which was completely the case right now.
"You need to stop trying to control me! And why the hell are you following me out here? What's your problem?" I yelled.
My hair was dripping now and the rain had increased dramatically, little pools had began to form on the road next to us.
"Look, Millie, I know you and I know what you're like. I don't know why your acting like this but why don't we go home and you can explain it to me." Just then Hayes' car came into focus, he stopped a little behind Nash and Cam shouted from the window,
"Guys, C'mon and get in the goddamn car, it's gonna be a storm soon by the looks of things."
As if on que, a rip of thunder vibrated through the air; however I barely noticed Cam or the thunder, I was too busy glaring at Nash.
"You don't freaking know me!" I screamed, "you pretend to but you don't know a thing about me, you just think I'm a sweet like sidekick of Allys that never says anything bad about anyone, that doesn't care how she gets treated, that will forgive anyone that treats her badly." I looked at the car to find Daisy staring at me with pity, and in that moment I saw red. "Go away Nash! Go back to your friends and your family and your car. I don't need you to walk me home or look after me, I just don't need you." I looked over at the car again before adding, "or anyone else for that matter."
Nash looked more hurt than I'd ever seen a person before in my life. "Amelia, C'mon, please can you just-"
"No! Nash, can't you see? I don't need to and I sure as hell don't want to. Just leave me alone."
Nash stared at me with the hurt expression still evident on his face when suddenly his features hardered, his lips tightened into a thin line and he glared at me. "Fine." He said curtly, before turning on his heel and getting into Hayes' car.
I watched the car grumble away before storming down the path, unsure whether the rain was the liquid stinging my cheeks or my tears.
