I pulled on a thin, orange shirt, with an intricate pattern that reminded me of India and tucked it into my americican apparel shorts and slipped my feet into my old white converse. I brushed through my hair and grabbed my basically empty bag and headed out the door.
Twenty minutes later, James and I were ready for school and walking in towards the office, we hadn't been sure about times so when we arrived everyone had already gone to lessons.
Great. Late on the first day, great first impression.
We get our time tables and I head towards physics, when I eventually find my way to the labs, the lessons nearly over so I just wait outside for everyone to come out. Next I have American history so I begin walking towards where it says on the map. I arriveon time but the lessons a drag, everyone keeps staring at me. The boys wink and nudge each other, some girls glare across the room and other girls give me sympathetic smiles. I can't wait to leave and as soon as the bell goes I rush off towards a crowded area which I assume is a cafeteria.
Grabbing a Coffee and chocolate chip muffin, I head towards the next lesson. It had already taken me fifteen minutes in the line and I had no idea when the next lesson began. I had double maths next and there was a seating plan. So, I ended up next to a pretty girl named Allison. When I say pretty I don't mean just pretty, I mean drop dead gorgeous, model-type girl. She's skinny and tall with long brown hair that falls straight down her back and tanned skin with big brown eyes and black eye lashes and a genuine smile on her face, revealing straight white teeth. She's the only person today that was actually just being nice and not treating me like a newbie, even though I was.
"Hi I'm Ally, you must be Amelia, right?"
I nodded and smiled at her.
"You any good at maths?"
"No." I replied lamely.
She sighed dramatically, "well this should be fun then." She huffed. She was right though, it was fun, we gossiped and she tried to mimic my British accent; she could not do accents.
Ally told me about the popular boys, everyone calls 'Magcon'. There was Shawn, Taylor, Hayes, Carter, Matt, Nash, Jack and the other Jack, Aaron, Cameron and some others.
"Wait, is that Nash and Hayes Grier?" I asked.
"Yar" she replied, "they are so pretty! The whole family really, but I prefer Cam, he looks like a model, I think he did do some modelling, he definitely opened a clothes brand called Aeropostale or something, he must be rich, but he's never noticed me" she pouted but then remembered what I asked "why'd you ask?"
"I live next door to them is all.." I shrugged.
"NO WAY! I live down cherry lane too! You've got to stay round tonight!"
"I would but I can't, mum wants to wait a week before I start going of to other peoples places." I mumbled, then I remembered "but she said I could have people stay with us! You can sleep at mine if you want?"
She beamed and enveloped me in a hug, I giggled and we scurried of together for lunch. In the cafeteria I bought another muffin and sat with Allison and her friends, they were obviously popular but I liked them all because they weren't the stuck up, nasty type that used to go to my old school. They all smiled and talked to me, but I knew it was Ali I liked most, we talked for the whole of lunch and when she decided we were 'bestfriends', the conversation was literally us giggling and then Ally said,
"Amiee, I've decided your my best friend."
At which I replied with, "Who said I wanted to be friends with you?"
We both continued giggling before Allison got real close to my ear and whispered to me "Nash freaking Grier is checking you out." I looked up and saw a large group of boys taking selfies and play fighting, two of the boys were looking back in our direction, one of them was tall and broad with a goofy grin and black hair that he was constantly pushing back from his face, he had fair skin but his eyes were nearly identical to Hayes' except this boys' were more obvious and captivating somehow. He caught my eye an we both stared at one another.
"The one staring at you is Nash, next to him is his best friend Cam." I pulled my eyes from Nashs' and looked at Cameron Dallas, he was tall and muscly in a very obvious way, he had olive skin and dark eyes and short sandy brown hair, he smiled and waved at the two of us and then they walked towards us. However, at that very moment, fate decided to not let us talk to the insanely attractive humans and instead go to our next lesson. I just hoped I'd get to talk to him some other time.
