I was still recovering from the shock of Hayes' words when I got home. I thought about it as I put on a bikini under my clothes and headed to the pool.

Nash talks about me? Why? He doesn't even care about me, right? I wasn't paying attention to anything as I wandered towards the back door, when suddenly a loud ping tore me back to my surroundings, I rushed to the door, begging whoever was there not to ring the doorbell again in case they woke up the rest of the house. I yanked it open and nearly slammed it shut again, it was Nash. Beautiful, perfect, slightly ruffled Nash. He gave me a weak smile whilst I just stared at him with my mouth forming an "O". We stared at each other for a few moments before I managed to close my mouth and ask him why he was here.

"Well, I thought I'd come and like apologise to you really. I didn't mean to upset you yesterday, it's just that..." He looked at me for a moment and then back at his feet "I don't know what it is but I'm still sorry, and I'd like to still be friends or whatever the hell we were before,if that's okay with you of course...?" He dared a glance up at me and my heart melted, he looked so sincere and desperate for forgiveness and any anger I'd been clinging to from the night before was washed away.

"No don't worry about it, I was half drunk anyway, I was just being dramatic, I don't know what came over me really."

I leant against the door frame as we stood there awkwardly for a few minutes, then he looked me up and down in a super obvious way that made me stand straighter and gave me the sudden urge to sort out my hair.

"Planning on going to the beach?" He asked after finishing his evaluation.

"Well I'd like to be, but I have no idea how to get there, so I was actually just planning on sitting by the pool and.." My voice trailed of as his face transformed into a goofy smile as if he'd just had the greatest idea ever, "What?"

"Amelia, I think we should make my apology and your forgiveness official by you letting me treat you to a day at the beach. What do you say?"

I stared at him, how are we gonna get to the beach at this time of day, I sure as hell am not letting him drive me there, we may be back on speaking terms but that does not under any circumstances mean I have any intention of just jumping in his car and driving of into the sunset. Nope, not happening. He must've read my thoughts on my face because his smile lessened.

"Or if you don't want to, that's cool, I'll understand, I just wanted to show you a secret way I found to make up for last night but that's fine, don't worry, by Mil" he began to turn but I grabbed him, intrigued by his words.

"What do you mean secret way to the beach?"

Ten minutes later, after trudging through the forest behind both of our houses, we arrived at a little opening and sure enough, there was the beach.

I smiled to myself as I breathed in the salty air, the sand was warm beneath my toes and the sun soothed my skin. Nash ran off towards to see and I followed, just before we got in we stopped and stripped into our swim suits, then we looked at each other with raised eyebrows, daring the other to jump in first. Nash lips formed the most mischievous smile I'd ever seen anyone achieve before running up to me, grabbing me by the waist and swinging me over his shoulder and running us both into the crashing waves. I laughed and thrashed my arms and legs and splashed him with water which he got his revenge for by picking me up and throwing me in again. We carried on messing about in the water until 3pm when we decided we were too hungry to carry on. We walked side by side to the chip shop, a safe distance away from one another and our hands swinging between us, we ordered only one portion of chips as that's the only thing we could afford with our loose bits of change that we'd scraped from our jean pockets. We walked back to the sandy beach which was clearing of people and sat by the water watching the sunset display orange and gold swirls on top of a white canvas sky. I pulled my knees to my chest and Nash sat beside me. I rested my head on his shoulder and saw him smile slightly from the corner of my eye. We didn't speak, we just admired nature at it's finest, engulfed by the worlds beauty.
