The resturant was enchanting; Chandeliers hung from the ceiling, casting rainbows of light onto the smooth wooden tables, the chairs were comfortable and modern and the waiters wore red aprons and friendly smiles as they fluttered from table to table.
"Hello, I'm Nick, can I help you?" Said a boy that looked only a few years older than me, he had strawberry blonde hair and thick nerdy glasses which made him look extreamly adorable.
"Hi, yes, we've booked a reservation for six please?" Came Elizabeths chirpy voice.
"Oh, of course! Follow me!" He took six menus and led us to the table in the corner of the room.
We took our seats, I was positioned next to the window which was between Nash and Will.
"What would you like to drink?" Asked Nick, pulling out a small notepad and pen.
"I'll have a Pepsi!" Called Will across the table.
"Make that three Pepsi's please." Chad added, looking knowingly at Liz.
"She'll have a fruit shoot please." Elizabeth said pointing to Sky.
"And two San Francisco's for us." Nash ordered, then after recieving a death glare from Liz he added, "no alcohol."
I nudged him and mouthed "what did you order?" To which he whispered close to my ear "You'll love it, I promise." With a wink.
I stared at him like an idiot, completely gobsmacked by his heart stopping wink and trying to think of a reply when Elizabeth jerked me from my thoughts.
"So, Amelia, why made you move from England? That's where your from, right?"
"Yeah thats where I moved from."
"You owe my five dollars!" Shouted Sky suddenly, grinning madly at Will.
"Damn, you have a good memory kid." Will replied sulkily, pulling out a $5 bill and handing it to her.
"Why are you paying her?" I asked him, confused by the whole affair.
"We bet where you were from." He replied, looking away from me.
"He said you were Australian!" Skylynn giggled happily, high fiving Nash as she spoke.
"Yeah yeah whatever." Will grumbled.
"So, why did you move?" Elizabeth asked again curiously.
"Well, my parents always like the idea of living someplace hot, so naturally, they liked the idea of America, but it pretty unlikely, until one day we won the lottery and after that it took us a month to find a house and move." I explained, playing with my hands as I did.
"Wow, we're very lucky to have the chance to meet you then!" Grinned Mrs Grier broadly and Nash reaches for my hand and squeezed as his way of agreeing.
Elizabeth continued questioning me as I ordered my food, there was literally anything you could possibly want on the menu, from pizza to fresh steak with homemade sauce and a side of breaded mushrooms. I couldn't choose fast enough so I just let Nash order for me again. I was halfway through answering Elizabeths question about my primary school when the food arrived along with my bright orange drink.
Everyone immediately dug in. I didn't know what I was eating but I made a mental note to ask Nash later because the food was the best thing I'd ever tasted; I literally had to count to ten between each bite to stop from wolfing down the whole thing and licking the plate.
Then I took a sip of my drink and the fruity deliciousness was like a bomb of sweetness in my mouth, Nash laughed as I downed half the glass in secomds. There was nothing better than this.
"You liked it then?" Chad asked raising an eyebrow at my empty plate.
"I loved it!" I exclaimed and then blushed at how childish I must've seemed, "I mean, it was delicious, thank you."
"Good, I'm glad you enjoyed it, this is my favourite resturant, it's where I asked Lizzy to marry me." Chad told me, smiling at Elizabeth.
"It was very romantic, especially for you." Elizabeth replied, leaning over to give Chad a kiss.
"Ew! Stop it! That's gross!" Squeeled Sky.
Nash put his hands over her eyes and yelled, "There are children present!"
Will and I looked at each other and burst into a fit of laughter which led to Will accidently spraying the drink he'd just drunk out of his mouth and onto Nash, which, of course, caused me to laugh harder.
"Can I tempt you with any deserts?" Nick asked as he reached our table once we'd calmed down.
Chad and Elizabeth both passed, but Sky ordered rasberry ice cream, apparently it's a tradition for her, I ordered a slice of chocolate fudge cake with vanilla ice cream and Nash and Will decided to get the same; they ordered the ice cream sundae with extra whipped cream, caramel and chocolate sauce, chocolate sprinkles, a side of six mini chocolate brownies and eight flapjacks with a bowl of butterscotch ice cream. Each.
I couldn't finish mine, however I tried, the cake was warm and soft and the sauce was thick and went perfectly with the creamy ice cream. It was literally to die for.
The boys finished their monsterous puddings but Nash's face told me he had struggled.
Once we were outside, the day had disappeared into night and the boy's started wrestling, including Chad, Skylynn had gone to play in the park and Elizabeth and me sat on the bench watching.
"Amelia, I just want to let you know that I like you a lot and I think you're very good for Nash." She said suddenly, it was such a randkm statement that I just stared at her, "but can you do me a favour?" She continued, ignoring my rudeness.
"Yeah, er, sure." I stuttered.
She looked at me then, "don't break his heart, and more importantly don't break his." I would have laughed at her awkwardness if she hadn't have been looking at me so seriously.
"Of course not." I replied, meeting her gaze.
"It's just, he can be real stupid sometimes, he might break up with you because he gets insecure and thinks you deserve better but I can tell you right now, he is the best boy you'll ever meet, and he loves you, it's obvious, plus, you're the first girl he's ever bought to meet us, so if he tries to leave, don't let him, okay?" She finished.
"Trust me, I don't think I could if I tried." I promised, looking over at Nash, his hair was getting long and falling onto his face, he looked over then, his blue eyes sparkling at the corners and he smiled at me with his significant grin, "nope, definatley couldn't."
She smiled at me and then pulled me into an unexpected hug.
"Welcome to the family then, Millie."
