"Why don't we just run away together?"
Robin sat up next to Jack, bright green eyes staring intensely at the boy on the ground. The two of them had been lounging in the sun, out of sight of the castle and the guards. The two of them, completely alone for a short while, before they were inevitably found and called back to their respective homes.
"Jack, you know we can't do that."
"Why not? Your parents approve, they've come to see me as a son. I could come stay with you, live out the rest of my days with the love of my life, never having to worry about the castle or my family ever again." Jack sat up as well, pulling dandelions out of the ground in an attempt to keep his hands distracted and warm. His nerves often caused him to lose control of his power.
Robin leaned over and kissed him, sadness and passion all wrapped into one pleasant kiss. The two stayed intertwined, neither one wanting to be the one to let go first. "I can't let you give up your life for me."
"I would do anything for you." He took Robin's hand, giving it a light squeeze as he gazed back at the teary eyes in front of him. He was stalling, he knew that. He knew that this could possibly be their last meeting. They had been discovered once by Jack's father, and it had not been a pleasant event.
"Your father would never approve, you know that."
Jack sighed, leaning back against the cool grass and gazing up at the cloudy sky. How he longed for a simpler life, for a chance to be himself, without any expectations. He lived his whole life trying to please his father, but it never seemed to be enough. Although Andie had assured him countless times that it wasn't true, he had always felt like a disappointment. He was a freak, cursed with powers that no one had a cure for. He was a freak, who couldn't even seem to obey the laws of nature in his father's eyes.
"Perhaps, one day, our paths will meet again," Robin said, wiping a tear that had slipped down Jack's cheek.
"Yeah, if we ever find ourselves in a different world."
"I can see it now. Jack and Robin, together forever, an unbreakable duo."
Jack leaned over and kissed Robin once more, the sound of the guards voices getting closer and closer. "I love you, Robin."
"And I love you, Jack."
The two embraced each other as tightly as they could before they pulled apart, holding on for as long as they could before they went their separate ways.
Just as Jack had suspected, Robin Hood would never be seen again.

Jack awoke with a gasp, sweat dripping down his face. It was a stark contrast to the state of his cell, which had seemingly been turned into an ice box overnight. Large icicles protruded from the ground, caging him in even further than he already was. He pulled his knees to his chest, trying to erase the memory of the dream from his mind.
