"You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it." - Maya Angelou

All around, cherry blossoms were in full bloom. The grass turned vibrant shades of green. The cool spring breeze rustled the leaves. The dryads danced in the wind, laughing together.
Spring had finally arrived.
Andie had left her cloak hanging on a tree with the three fur coats. She felt bare without it. Exposed. Even though her dress had long sleeves and reached her ankles, she missed the feeling of her cloak wrapped around her.
It made her feel invisible.
She knew that she would never be as important as the Pevensies. She knew that after they were crowned Kings and Queens, her job would be done. She could sink back into the shadows and live the rest of her life in peace.
But still, even as the thought crossed her mind, she was no longer certain of that decision.
The six of them climbed the hill towards Aslan's camp. The breeze blew Andie's hair into her face, which was still damp from their adventure in the river. She rummaged around in her satchel, looking for something to tie it back with.
As she tied her hair into a braid, she watched as a dryad came into view, stopping to wave at Lucy before following the wind towards the woods. Lucy waved back, a shy smile on her face as she ran to catch up with the rest of the group.
Andie's stomach twisted into knots as the camp came into view. It had only been about a week since she'd left, but the thought of seeing Aslan sent her nerves spiraling.
What would he think when he found out that Edmund had been captured?
They made their way through the camp, the army pausing their work to stare as they passed through. Andie wiped her palms on her dress, her heart pounding in her chest as they neared Aslan's tent at the far end of the camp.
"Why are they all staring at us?" Susan whispered through a forced smile.
"Maybe they think you look funny," Lucy suggested, earning giggles from the rest of the group.
They approached Aslan's tent, where Oreius the Centaur was standing guard. Peter unsheathed his sword, holding it out in front of him. "We have come to see Aslan."
Andie's breath caught in her throat as Aslan slowly exited his tent. She immediately sunk onto one knee, the Pevensies following suit.
He was just as magnificent as she remembered.
"Welcome, Peter, son of Adam. Welcome, Susan and Lucy, daughters of Eve. Welcome to you, Beavers, and welcome back, Andie. You have my thanks. But where is the fourth?"
