"Just eat it!"

"Father, what's going on?"

"Stay out of this, Andie!"

"Jack, is that-"

"This is none of your concern!"

"You can't eat that!"

"He'll do as I tell him!"

"Fine! I'll do it!"

"If you're doing it, I'm doing it, too."

"Andie, no!"

***

Andie awoke, abruptly jerked out of her dream. The details were already hazy, the voices sinking back into the depths of her mind. She struggled to remember anything, to grasp onto a single memory, but the dream was already long gone.

Beads of sweat rolled down her forehead and she wiped them away, her head pounding and her face burning. Her skin tingled, as if remembering the elements of the dream more clearly than her own mind.

A shadow passed by the tent, diverting any thoughts she may have had about going back to sleep. It was a large shadow. One that looked strikingly like a lion.

Lucy sat up in bed, her eyes meeting the older girl's for only a moment before she turned to her sister, who was still asleep. "Susan!"

Susan had barely enough time to open her eyes before Lucy had slipped her shoes on, grabbed her cordial, and crept outside. The two older girls followed and the three of them clustered together outside of the tent.

Andie could barely make out the shape of Aslan entering the woods, but she was positive that it was him. She had a feeling that they shouldn't follow, but her curiosity got the best of her. The three of them followed the Lion from a distance, crouching behind bushes and clumping together behind trees.

They had followed him a decent way into the woods when he suddenly stopped. "Shouldn't you all be in bed?"

The girls came out of their hiding spot, stepping towards Aslan, who hadn't even turned around.

"We couldn't sleep."

"Please, Aslan. Couldn't we come with you?"

Aslan hesitated and Andie was afraid he would send them back to bed. Tension filled the air, a feeling of dread looming over the woods and its inhabitants. The path ahead was dark, though Andie suspected that Aslan knew exactly where he was going.
