After my talk with Roman this morning, I had decided the safest proceedure was staing all day home, studying, catching up on the hours of work I lost the past days. Roman had made it fairly obvious that something was going to happen with his relationship with Virgil, but sadly, I hadn't been able to get the grip on what exactly he meant. It was so tedious not knowing what was going on, but after many years of trial and error, I had realiced that asking about feelings was dangerous, and you'll always end up looking like a moron.

So there I stayed, studying. It was nice doing it alone, in silence for once. Normally, the other three would convince me to go with them to the library, since my knowledge extended to various topics that helped them in their learning, and if they had doubhtgs about the procedure they needed to use to finish or understand certain concept, I was there to help.

It also helped me, the action of providing aid when studying. Since I wanted to become a teacher, this served as practice for the future, and they all agreeded that my techniques where usefull, which made me really happy.

I heard noise outside, and I asumed it was Roman, who had came back for lunch. I got out of my room to see my roommate's door closing. I aproached it and knocked, but I got no response. He probably just wasn't in the mood for talking, so I decided to leave him alone.

I then proceeded to prepare my luch. I fried the meat I had taken out of the freezer in the morning, and used the resting oil to prepare some fries that'll acompany the meal. I also made a salad, since I wanted to make the meal as healthy as posible. I made some extra food just in case Roman wanted to eat later.

I was about to finish the cooking when someone knocked at the door. I opened to be greeted by Patton.

"Oh, hello Patton. What do you-" I started, but Patton passed pass me

"Not now Logan, I need to see Roman," He simply said, getting inside my roomate's room.

"That was weird," I mumbled, sitting back down.

After lunch, I went to my room and went to check on my phone, curious if maybe Virgil could explain what was going on. At first I saw a few notifications, but the moment I was about to read them, my phone died. I sighed, plugging it in the charger, as I sat in my bed. I seriously needed to take better care of my electronic devices so they didn't run out of battery like this. It was terribly frustating.

What to do now... I asked myself, scaning the room. I wanted to read something, but I didn't know what. I had already read all the books of my shelf, and I didn't feel like re-reading anything. I wanted something new, something exiting, something...

Wait. What's this...

I stood up and walked towards my shelf, and took out a book I didn't remember buying. It was black, and had the tittle, "Noughts and Crosses," written with colourfull letters. I recogniced as the book that caught my attention so long ago, on my last date with Janus, but that I didn't end up buying. What was it doing here then?

I opened the book, and a piece of paper fell. I picked it up and read it.

Logan, I'm sorry. I know I was an idiot, and that I shouldn't have cheated. I know that there's no forgiving me, but I just want to make you know that I'm sorry, I truly am.

I noticed that you liked this book when we whent to the bookstore, even tho you didn't end up buying it. As you paid for my book, I hope this is a good start

call me

Janus

I stared at the letter for a minute before I burted into laughs. Oh my god, did Janus really think it was going to be that easy? I had been naïve thinking that I really loved him, but he was even worse thinking that I'll want him back. I deserved better, and right now, my heart had other plans

Either way, the good thing is that now I had a new book to read, and I wasn't planning on waisting this wonderful oportunity of finding an activity to waste my time with.

After a few hours, I had gotten really invested in the story. I never thought that I'd like a love story, but it wasn't only love, it was exiting, since the character where fighting agains racism and predugisim to get together, and the emotions that flooded the pages impacted me deeply, and I loved it.

I checked my phone to make sure if it was already charged, and I was glad to realiced that, in fact, it was.

I un-plugged it from the charger and checked the notifications. Apparently Virgil had been texting me during this time.

A smile formed in my lips as I opened the chat, but it slowly banished as I read the texts.

Virgil: Logan

I see that you aren't connected

and I'm sure that Roman has told you already

or something

but well

if he has, I guess that you would've texted me?

idk

well, so the thing is that, um

Roman and I- we aren't together anymore

He just broke up with me

I dropped my phone. Oh. Oh! Oh, so- so this was what it was all about? This was why Roman had been acting so strange? Is this why Patton had come, why no one had contacted me today, why-

This- this is my fault? It made sense. It all made sense now. The reason Roman had spoken to me this morning. Oh Gods- had I caused this breakeup? As long as I knew, Roman had stayed all day in his room, with Patton...

What did this mean for me? I- I'm confused. What should I do? What's the protocol for this sort fo situation!?

Logan, also known as The King of Obliviousness. Someone please help him, he needs it. I initially though that we wouldn't get up to 60 chapters, but here's the thing...

I'm extending this a bit more than planned, so anything can happen

Also, I've panned a possible sequel, and if it ends up happening, I'll need to maybe give slightly different ending...

Just for curiosity, if I did a sequel where Analogical is already together and it's about their relationships healing after the prinxiety breakeup, would you read it?

Until the next time, take it easy guys gals and non binary pals!
