"Eva, you have a guest."I look up at my mom and frown.
"They're tricking you. I don't know anyone here." I say, going back to the papers in front of me.
"It's that tall boy. Tsu-"
Before my mom even finishes the name I'm already out my room, rushing past her.
"I never even got the chance to properly thank you. You really saved our daughter. Will your family be home tomorrow? We'd like to treat you to a meal and we have gifts for your family to show our appreciation." My father bows to Tsukishima.
"Ah, that's not nece-"
"You're going to refuse?" My dad stands up, a frown on his face.
Tsukishima looks a bit uncomfortable, and I walk into view.
"Dad, don't force him." I say, both of their attention turning to me.
"Tell him to agree. We bought a lot of stuff." My father pouts.
"If he doesn't want to then-"
"It's alright. I'll let my mother know, I believe she doesn't have work tomorrow night." Tsukishima cuts me off.
"Great! If you have siblings too then please invite them!" My father exclaims.
"Ah...yes." Tsukishima scrunches up his face.
"Tsukishima-Kun, I hope you know we don't want to make you uncomfortable. We just want to show our appreciation in any way we can. Eva means a lot to us- we're very lucky that you two became friends." My mother pops up behind us.
"Okayyyy!" I whine. "No more."
I look at Tsukishima, nodding my head in the direction of the stairs before walking off.
I hear him excuse himself and I wait for him at the top of the stairs. Once he joins me, I lead him to my room.
"You don't want to be in the living room...? Or something?" Tsukishima asks, and I turn to him.
He looks...nervous?
"Tsukishima-Kun, what are you nervous about?" I chuckle. "Scared I'm gonna kiss ya?"
Tsukishima's eyes widen and he looks away.
"Out of all the phrases you can say properly, you chose that one?" He scoffs, and I laugh a bit.
It hasn't been long, but ever since what happened, Tsukishima and I have been hanging out a lot more often and emailing each other a lot. I haven't gone back to karasuno since what happened, the school is kissing my ass and allowing me to do my work from home because they don't want to get sued.
"The door is open. Calm down." I chuckle a bit, sitting at my desk. I pat the chair next to me and he sits down.
"You know, your mom is really good at Japanese. It sounds natural- unlike you. Why aren't you as good as her?" Tsukishima teases and I roll my eyes, grabbing all my notes and setting them in front of me.
"She dated a Japanese guy for 2 years, I didn't." I state matter-of-factly.
"But don't you consider him your dad?" He asks and I look away sheepishly.
"I didn't think we'd move here....and plus, he speaks Englis-"
"Basically, you're lazy." He cuts me off.
I cross my arms, refusing to look at him because he's right. I was lazy.
"But you're doing well now. Should I help you study?" He asks and my eyes brighten.
