(A/N: I'm gonna skip over nationals Bc at the time I'm writing this I haven't gotten to that part in the manga...
"TSUKISHIMA-KUNNNNNNN!!!" I squeal, running up to him and attacking him in a hug.
He stumbles back from the impact, but steadies himself as he hugs me back for a second before pushing me away.
"No PDA." He mumbles and I throw my hands up into the air in celebration.
"Congratulations! You're so sweaty! You did so well!" I exclaim happily.
"What about me? Did I do well? Did I?"
I turn to the side and see Hinata looking at me with bright eyes.
Oh...uh
"Mm. You did very well Hinata-Kun." I smile a little awkwardly.
"WAHOOO! YOU HEAR THAT KAGEYAMA?? SHE SAID I DID WELL. SHE DIDN'T TELL YOU THAT DID SHE? BAHAHAHA."
My eyes widen when Kageyama turns around and starts stomping towards me.
Tsukishima immediately gets in front of me, crossing his arms as he stares down his teammate.
"Your highness, it's not very royalty like to stomp towards a lady like that." Tsukishima blinks at Kageyama. "Go ask Yachi for a 'good job' before I beat your ass."
"WHAT DID YOU SA-?!"
Kageyama is now being dragged away by Daichi.
Tsukishima sighs, turning back to me.
"Didn't I tell you to call me Kei?"
"Keiiiiiiii!" I throw my hands into the air again. "You should be super happy! You just won your First Nationals game! My parents are here and your brother was so proud of you! You did so amazing." I beam.
"I hardly did anything." He rolls his eyes.
I take a step back, looking him up and down, tapping my chin.
"What? What are you looking at?" He looks down at his uniform.
A small grin comes over my face and I bite my lip.
"You've gotten big." I say. His face drops and he gives me a blank stare.
"Are you calling me fat?"
My eyes widen and then I burst out laughing, shaking my head.
"No, silly! You look like you've gained a lot of muscle. Your arms are bigger and your legs looks stronger." I gush, unable to contain the smile on my face.
"Well yeah, I'm at the age where that happens." Tsukishima tries to play it off coolly, but a blush spreads across his cheeks.
"My Kei is going to get big and strong!" I giggle clasping my hands behind my back. "So I have to appreciate you a little more now before you turn into 100% rock."
Tsukishima frowns, adjusting the bag on his shoulder. He turns back to me and I tilt my head.
"You don't mind how I am? When we met I had almost no muscle. I could barely give you piggyback rides because I was so weak."
A soft chuckle escapes my lips and I stand on my tippy toes, reaching up to ruffle his hair.
"I think you're hot without muscle, and I think you're hot with muscle. I find you attractive no matter what. Even if you were 600lbs. That's love, right?" I raise an eyebrow, smiling. "You treat me well, and I want to take care of you. That's why we're dating. You being extremely attractive is just a really great plus so-"
Tsukishima ends my rant by smashing his lips against mine.
He's kissing me in public.
I repeat, Tsukishima Kei is now kissing me.
He cut me off to kiss me. When he doesn't even like PDA.
When he pulls away, he gives me a small smile and pats my head.
"But there's people around." I say, still shocked he did that.
"They're not paying attention to us." He says. "And you were being really cute, how can I resist?" He kisses my forehead.
Sigh.
I'm so in love with this man.
~
The rest of nationals felt like it flew by quickly. My parents and I stayed in the hotel next to where Karasuno stayed, and their coach let me hang out with them for a while at nights. I ended up talking a lot with the other guys, much to Tsukishima's dismay, and I also ended up getting along well with Yachi and Kiyoko.
It was sort of insane to see how much these boys dedicated their lives to volleyball. Even if they know they don't want to continue it after graduating.
Within only a short, few days, I ended up creating a bond with this team, and memories that will last a lifetime.
I could feel how genuine they all were and even in stressful times, they managed to brighten up the air. Especially Hinata.
Some of us even bonded through our relationships. I found out Daichi and Suga were dating, as well as Hinata and Kageyama (even though Kageyama seems so mean to him?? But they're never separated from each other, so I guess it makes sense.)
The four of them asked me a bunch of questions about how being gay in America was like.
Since I'm only an ally, I couldn't give them any personal experiences. All I can say is that there's a lot of couples who walk freely around, not caring about who sees them and that it's way more accepted than here.
Talking about it brought sparkles to their eyes, and talks of taking a trip to the states. We ate big meals together, laughed, watched the other teams play, and I even helped out with Kiyoko and Yachi's duties.
It was nice. Even though I'm not part of their friend group or team in any way, for a few days they made me feel like I belonged there with them. Like I had a family away from home.
But it all ended way too soon. The happy atmosphere was ruined by tears and despair. Emotional pep talks were made by the coaches, and the sound of the whistle being blown- signaling the end of the last ever match for their third years- rang in our heads all throughout the way home.
And then came the thank you's.
The thank you's from the third years for giving them the best years of their lives. The thank you's from the underclassmen to the third years, for being their rocks and the most amazing senpais anyone could ask for.
Then came the thank you's to the coaches, for believing in them and doing everything in their power to make sure they had the means to grow (this was mostly directed to Takeda). And then from the coaches to the players, for giving Karasuno the title of a power house school again and completely destroying the nickname 'the flightless crows'.
It was a day full of tears for the boys. Even if they didn't cry in front of each other, they definitely did the night they got home.
Even though it was all over, at least they had the pictures and feelings to prove it happened.
Because no matter what anyone says, we all need at least some memories.
(Sorry super short chapter
Also, I'm reading this over again a few months later and I finished the manga a while ago. All I have to say is the way nationals ended had me bawling lmao)
