Senbon needles pierced Zabuza's side. All eyes went to the figure who threw them.
"You were right," they said calmly, "he died."
Y/n raised an eyebrow in amusement. Life was so fun when you knew what was going to happen.
"I thank you," Haku began, bowing his head. "I've been waiting for the chance to kill Zabuza."
Kakashi kneeled beside Zabuza's body, staring at Haku.
"By the looks of that mask, you're a tracker ninja from the Hidden Mist."
Y/n yawned, trying to hide a snicker. After all, they were well aware that Haku was, by all technicality, a simp for Zabuza (and was definitely never gonna kill him).
Naruto's outburst snapped them out of their thoughts
"They killed that guy who was so strong! He was killed so easily by a kid who's no different from me! We're... pathetic."
Offended, Y/n scoffed, "speak for yourself mate, I'm fantastic. Alexa, play irreplaceable by Beyonce."
Sasuke looked at them blankly. "Who the fukc is Alexa."
Sakura side-eyed their interaction and murmured, "who says you're fantastic?"
Hearing Sakura's comment, Y/n placed a hand over their heart and said, rather loudly,
"Haku wouldn't treat me like this. Haku would treat me right, no disrESPECT unlike what I receive here, honestly."
Y/n grinned smugly while saying this. Staring directly at the supposed Tracker Nin, who, if you were paying close enough attention, flinched ever-so-slightly at the mention of his name.
"Your battle is over for now. I must get rid of its corpse because it contains many secrets. Now then please excuse me." Haku said, grabbing Zabuza's body and Jutsu-ing away.
Naruto gritted his teeth and fell to his knees, punching the ground in frustration.
Y/n watched him with a frown. 'Oof, he be wildin'... but I guess I can understand why he's so affected. He just found out there's someone his age so strong... he must be realising his dream of being Hokage is a lot harder than he imagined it to be.... don't worry my baby please don't be sad T~T you're making me sad' they thought to themself. Walking towards Naruto, they grabbed his elbow gently before Kakashi could.
"Hey... I know you're frustrated. I know it's," they inhaled sharply, searching for the right words to say. "I know it hurts, but, that's part of being a shinobi ya know? Take your frustrations and let them drive you to work harder and become stronger." They gave him a soft smile, "I know you can. I know you will. Believe it!" Winking as they said his catchphrase.
He looked up at them and gave a shy smile, "thank you. I needed that dattebayo." He sprung up and threw his arms around Y/n, bringing them into a tight hug.
"I'm so glad you're here with me"
Y/n simply hugged him back. But on the inside, oh, they were gone. Killed. KO. Cause of death? Cuteness. Yes, Naruto was simply that cute.

It was almost too much for their heart to take. Unfortunately, Kakashi interrupted (again? geez, kakashi the copy nin? more like kakashi the cockblock :/)
"Our mission hasn't ended yet. We must take Tazuna home. Okay, let's perk up and go!"
Y/n rolled their eyes and reluctantly pried themselves away from Naruto, standing in front of Kakashi with their arms crossed and an unimpressed look on their face.
"You're literally going to collapse if you take one more step."
He rolled his eyes, "No I'm not, I'm fine, see-"
He did, in fact, collapse. Right into Y/n. It would've even been a romantic and shoujo experience for them, had he fallen into their arms instead of knocking them over like a domino. The man was heavy, and they were not as prepared as they thought.
Still, they decided they liked being under Kakashi. Their face turned red, burning in shame and embarrassment. They internally slapped themself, 'YOU ARE A MINOR. HE IS A MAJOR OR WHATEVER. DON'T LET YOUR SIMP SHOW. CONCEAL. DON'T FEEL. DON'T LET THEM KNOW. PLEASE. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YOU. ARE. A. MINOR. THIS IS ILLEGAL... But he's hot.... god, I'm literal trash.'
After their little civil war with themself, they pulled themself together and tried to stand up without hurting him. Was not gonna happen.
Surprisingly, Sakura was the first to help, offering Y/n a hand. Sasuke and Naruto were quick to pull Kakashi off of them. They supported their sensei on either side. Sakura looked at Y/n with concerned eyes and held Y/n's hands softly.
"Are you okay? The thud sounded pretty hard."
Y/n blinked once, then twice in mild astonishment. Did Sakura care? Like, actually cared? A light blush dusted their cheeks and they sheepishly nodded.
"I'm alright."
Tazuna cleared his throat.
"Hey kids, my home's this way. Be careful with your sensei... Is he dead or something?"
Sasuke checked his pulse.
"No."
Naruto, Sakura and Tazuna let out a sigh of relief. Y/n resisted a laugh.
"He's not dead, he just overworked himself. He'll be fine," They said dismissively.
"Let's just go... I'm starving."
Naruto's eyes lit up, "can we eat ramen?!"
"No 💖" Tazuna said hautily.
Y/n frowned and wrapped an arm around the sulking Naruto.
"Don't listen to the mean, alcoholic bridge-builder, of course we can have ramen!"
Naruto beamed up at them, looking at them in awe and adoration.
