Sasuke didn't stop. He was closing in on Y/n steadily.

'Damn it Y/n, ya had to go and piss off the emo duck, didn't you? Outstanding move'

Internally they cursed as he got closer and closer. Their cheeks stubbornly heated up as he came only inches away from my face. Their heartbeat quickened, it felt like  Sasuke was staring into their soul. Gulping, they tried to move, a million thoughts flooding through their head,

'tooclosetooclosetooclosetooclosetooclose ohmygod what's going on ahsewufhdshjkbjbdvhdfnjdbewjbjcbdjsbjdbhjbjbvhvd'

Though his stare was cold, his eyes glimmered with amusement at the way their way flushed pink. Leaning in closer, he brought his lips next to their ear,

"Maybe I do have feelings... some of them I don't even understand... but I know that one day I might not be able to control them," he whispered. Y/n felt butterflies explode in their stomach, the tips of their ears burning red. They didn't have time to really process what he was saying. It didn't make sense to them. What feelings did he have? What was going on? All they knew is that they needed to get a w a y from him. This was too much for them.

Fire enveloped their arms, making Sasuke stumble back in surprise. Ripping their clothes free from the ninja stars, they stood in front of him. Heaving a deep breath, their flames died down and they stepped forward towards the Uchiha. He tilted his head to the side, intrigued as to what they would do next.

Reaching into their pocket, they grabbed a ninja star and threw it at Sasuke. He ducked his head to the right, it missed him completely. But he couldn't say the same for his shirt.

"I don't know what just happened... but I do wanna return the favour," Y/n muttered.

"I know you have feelings dude, but you gotta respect that so do I. You can't just pin people to trees Sasuke, it really flustered me!" They scolded softly. Their heartbeat and the pink tint on their cheeks still hadn't calmed completely.

Walking up to Sasuke, they reached over and pulled the ninja star out, their gaze never meeting his eyes. He watched them curiously. Stepping backwards, Y/n took a deep breath and turned around, standing straight, going back to their assigned job.

He hesitantly opened his mouth, about to say something, but Kakashi's voice cut him off.

"I don't know what happened here but we're about to get moving again, so get ready to leave."

Y/n's POV

We're on the boat. The engines have already been cut and now we're rowing through the fog. I was sitting right behind Naruto, leaning against him. The unfinished bridge came into view, making us look up at the huge structure in awe.

"It's so big!!!" Naruto shouted, I sniggered underneath my breath,

"That's what she said," I muttered. Kakashi laughed, trying to stifle it with a cough. Shrugging, I grinned. Naruto looked at me, confused.

"Who? What? Who is 'she? Did she see the bridge too?" My heart warmed as I patted his head,

"You'll find out one day. Probably during your training with-" Cutting myself off before I said anything else, I chuckled nervously, "Probably the more time you spend with Kakashi-sensei! Haha yeah I mean, he is a bit of a perv-"

Kakashi coughed louder, "I think it's time we all learn more about the people targeting you Tazuna," he interrupted, "the identity of your assailants and the reason why they're after you. If you don't tell us, our mission may end when you make landfall."

Tazuna sighed, "it appears I have no choice. I'm actually being targeted by a terrifying man. You may have heard his name before at least. A shipping magnate by the name of Gato."

Kakashi's eye widened, "What? Gato? Of the Gato Company?"

I chuckled under my breath, making Sakura look at me weirdly. I looked at her, "gato means cat in Spanish, so I'm imagining a short, evil man who wears cat ears and says 'nyah'."

Sakura was beyond confused, "Spanish?" Oops. I forgot other languages don't really exist here. We stared at each other for a second before going back to listening to Tazuna.

"He used his wealth and violence to enter into this country. And before anyone knew it, he had completely taken control over the island's maritime transportation and shipping. Having a tight grip on the ocean means having control over finace, the government, the people... everything. The one thing Gato fears is the completion of the bridge."

'There's nothing I can really contribute right now...' I thought, staring into the water. I dipped a finger in an shivered, man it was cold.

"But I don't understand," Kakashi began, "the man after you will even use ninja. Why would you hide this fact from us when you made the request?"

Tazuna looked down, "The Land of Waves is poor now, due to Gato's reign... even the fuedal lords don't have much money. We have no means to request mission of B-rank or higher... Well, if you pull out from the mission when I land ashore, I will no doubt be killed."

I internally snickered, here comes the guilt trip.

"Killed even before I make it home. But there's no need for concern! Should I die, my cute grandchild who's turning 8, will only cry his heart out! And! My daughter will only blame the Hidden Leaf for the rest of her life and grieve in solitude!"

Kakashi scratched his forehead, "well, I guess we have no choice. Let's continue as his bodyguards."

"Oh I am most grateful!!" He smirked smugly and held up a piece sign, 'I won' I heard him think. I shook my head with a small smile.

Laugh it up fools, 'cause very soon, we're gonna meet Mr Cow Print and the only one laughing then, will probably be me. Because honestly, cow print? And grandma pants? Wherever the scary demon man of the Mist shops, it is not popular. I don't see anyone else starting that fashion trend. I mean, aren't assasins supposed to be wearing all back or camouflage stuff? But nooo Zabuza has a whole moo print aesthetic goin' on. All that cow print and I've never heard him make a single cow pun. What's the aesthetic even FOR if he doesn't make terrible puns about it? Haku I don't know exactly what you see in that man, because it is definitely not his fashion sense. Or his sense of humour.
