Bloody 21: Stage 2: Expulsion?

Roen Astrid.

"Can you guess your fate, little guard?"

My eyes dimmed as I heard a playful voice ringing in my ears. The anticipation that I felt a second ago faded like it never existed.
Little guard eh? Did I heard him right? Now I'm having second thoughts about my decision. Should I just follow my first plan?

It's too late though. I already stepped in the enemy's lair.

"W-who's that? M-Mr. Davine? C-can you hear me, t-teacher?" I forced myself to sound scared and innocent. I need to test a few things and this is the perfect chance to confirm my speculations. If he's able to hear and communicate with students from this cage, then I must find out and squeeze useful information from him as many as possible. I have to find out his purpose for talking to me.

I rolled my eyes lazily when I heard a wave of laughter. "Oh little guard, you really are a lucky one. Picking number 6 is a fortune, don't you think so?" he said with a meaningful tone, ignoring my words. Muli kong naalala ang napili kong numero.

6
It was dictated by the fortune wheel,
Your fate is my will.

I'll choose a game for you to play,
This may not be the easy way,
But don't you worry little fairy,
At the end, the eye will set you free.

That's right. I ended up picking 6 and just as the message implies, my fate is now in Mr. Davine's hands. I wonder what game he'll choose for me to play. Oh well, I'm looking forward to it.

"You hit the jackpot! Don't you think so, little guard?" He repeated. Jackpot? I'll feel better if I hit your face instead.

"I-I totally agree, M-mr. Davine! I feel very much secured entrusting my fate into your hands. I believe in your character, teacher! A single glance is enough for me to know that you are a kind and soft-hearted man," I flattered him with a sweet and grateful tone, my lips quirking up into a sly smile. He can't see me anyway.

"Are you saying that I look very much fragile and weak, hmm? Do you think I'm not fit to be the s-class head teacher, little guard?" Even though his voice sounded hurt, I can still hear the hint of leisure as he talked.

Scratch that, he didn't even try to conceal the mockery in his tone as if  he's just talking to a toy.

"P-please don't misunderstand my words, teacher! I-it's not like that at all! You are definitely an upright man! To be honest, I really love being in your 'precious cage', teacher! It feels like I'm in my grandfather's arms. Your demeanor shows how much challenges and hardships you've surpassed, like that of my elders. It makes me feel safe," In short, you are a damn old geezer.

I tried my best to stifle a laugh. I deliberately made my voice sound respectful, a tone used when speaking to elders.

If I'm a little guard, then you are an old man. As simple as that.

This time, it took him a little longer to respond, making me grin triumphantly. I made sure my words hit his sore spots, low-key insulting him.

"What a cute little guard. You make my heart warm, student. My Empress hired such a good seedling." He said through his gritted teeth as if he's having a hard time suppressing his anger.

As much as I want to celebrate from successfully provoking him, the corners of my mouth instantly descended into a frown.

My Empress eh? Not the royal family? He actually used 'My Empress' instead of the royal family. Even though being Lucy's personal guard wasn't a secret, his way of delivering those words held a meaningful tone. These small details are not to be overlooked.
