Levi woke up around late at night. He knew he shouldn't have drunk too much wine during their dinner.Forcing his body to move away from the warmth and comforts of his bed, Levi dragged his feet to the bathroom. Hands rubbing the sleep on his eyes.
He had a rather busy day, putting away the remaining items he bought for the kitchen, cooked lunch for them, he also made food for Titan and Maria. And finished cleaning up before dinner.
That afternoon, before Hannes went home, he gave them a bottle of wine that he stored in his horse's saddlebag, he said that he bought it for Levi as a welcome gift. Of course, there's no way Levi would turn down free wine.
Passing through the kitchen, Levi smiled at the memory of Eren and Hannes's reaction after they stated his cooking. It made Levi's Omega purred, knowing that he could cook food for his Alpha and also for other people. Titan and Maria also finished their food within a split second and begged on the Omega's feet for more.
Everything's nice after that. Levi and Eren had dinner later that evening with the leftover stew and opened the wine that Hannes gave. The wine was delicious that they both couldn't get over it. They almost finished the whole bottle.
They shorty went to their respective rooms after they cleaned up. Levi's tired and with the help of the wine, he fell asleep the moment he laid down. The raven could tell that Eren did the same, the brunette did help the carpenter with a few things and also tend his barn animals.
Finishing his business in the bathroom, Levi forced his eyes open as he returned to his room when he heard someone whining.
Levi froze and his once-sleepy eyes shot open in full alert.
Groaning.
Someone was groaning and it sounded like it came from the Alpha's room. Levi quietly moved to the brunette's door and placed his ear on the wood.
"No, ugh, don't shoot...." It sounded like Eren was begging.
"Please." He whined and it broke Levi's heart.
He didn't hesitate to reach for the doorknob and pushed the door open. There he saw Eren slightly squirming on his bed. Eyes close, brows knitted together, he was sweating, and his breathing was quick. He continued to groan and whimpered in his sleep like his nightmare was eating him up.
Levi took the towel from the drawer and slowly sat at the edge of the bed. The raven gives off a calming scent, hoping that it will ease up the Alpha's discomfort. Levi rarely used his scent to calm or threaten others, the suppressants covered up his scent. But animals could still pick it up, like dogs and cat.
Now, Levi neglected to take his suppressants, he hardly had a reason to continue taking them. He had a home and an Alpha that he trusted. No more hiding of his scent in fear that the police dogs would track him.
He gently patted the sweat off the Alpha's forehead, Eren's features gradually soften and he eventually stopped squirming.
"Eren?" Levi quietly called out.
Eren slowly fluttered his eyes open when he felt something soft and gentle was dapping on his forehead. A familiar voice called his name and the warm and soothing wash of vanilla and strawberry flooded his senses. The smell was calming, it reminded him of his mother. Carla Yeager's honey and lemon scent never failed to make Eren relax, when he's angry or scared. It helped Eren growing up. He missed her. But this new delectable scent, made Eren's heart warm and his mind clear.
Blinking several times, Eren allowed his eyes to adjust at the dark.
He recognized Levi. The Omega was dapping a towel on his sweaty forehead. "Levi." He breathes.
"You okay?" Levi asked, his blue-stormy eyes filled with tender concern.
Eren gulped and nodded weakly.
"I went to the bathroom and was about to return to my room when I heard you. Nightmare?"
Eren let out a long tired sigh. "Yeah."
"Can you tell me about it?"
"I... It's nothing," Eren slightly shook his head. "It's just... the war."
"I'm sorry you had to go through it Eren," Levi recalled the times when every Alpha was forced to join the army during the war. It was needed they said, but to Levi, it was ripping loves ones from their family to fight.
He simply watched mothers cried and fathers refused to let go of their Alphan children. It was a sorrowful sight, some were even teens. Of course, during those times, the military was also forcing the homeless and peasants, as long as they were Alphas.
Levi thought it would be good for him. The government supported the new trainees with three meals a day, clothing, and a roof over their heads. Of course, they refused to let Levi to join because of being an Omega, but on the bright side, the raven was able to pickpocket those guys while he tried to convince every military soldier to let him join.
"It's fine. It was three years ago now. But thank you." Eren gave him a small smile. "You can go to your room now. I'm sorry if I made you worry. Good night, Levi."
Levi pressed his lips as he watched Eren raised himself with his elbow to fluff his pillow. The raven stood and went to the bathroom to throw the towel on the hamper. He paused at Eren's door and gazed at the brunette.
He couldn't go back to his room after he just witnessed Eren had a nightmare. He stepped inside and closed the door behind him.
The Alpha heard his door closed and he assumed that the Omega returned to his room. Eren forced himself to sleep, he got plenty of work waiting for him once the sun raised and he needed all the sleep he could get.
Those nightmares he had were not new and he knew how to deal with them... a bit. Armin taught him a few things, one of them was very effective- he'll think of things he liked, like puppies and kittens. Though he could still feel the lingering fear and anxiety in his chest then again, those were not new.
"Eren, could you scoot a bit?"
Eren's eyes shot open wide and turned to found Levi at the side of his bed. Not sure of what the raven was planning, Eren nodded in confusion and scooted over.
Levi smiled. Lifting the blanket, he slid in and turned to face the Alpha.
Eren blinked at the raven, still confused as to why Levi decided to sleep next to him.
Levi noticed his uncertainty and explained. "I thought that I should be here after you had a nightmare." He reached out and raked his hand on Eren's hair. "Um, do you want me to leave?"
"No," Eren said without hesitation. He doesn't want Levi to leave him, he doesn't want to be alone anymore. Ever since he came back home after the war, Eren was always alone. His parents passed away while he was in training in the military and Mikasa went to the city after the war. "Please." He pleaded.
"Alright," Levi smiled. "Then, I'll be here. Good night, Eren."
"Good night, Levi," Eren whispered. He fell asleep without thinking about puppies and kittens but with just the gentle hand that was ruffling his hair and the warmth of Levi's body next to his.
