I am still catching my breath when my phone rings in my pocket. The boys all look at me, probably wondering what song I have as my ringtone.
"A Drop In The Ocean - Ron Pope," I say to them and they open their mouths and bob their heads to give a silent understanding.
I look at the caller ID and am thrilled to see that it is Nathan. I smile instantly appears on my face, but fades when I realise that I am in a car full of people who can listen into my conversation. I push the feeling away and let the excitement wash over me so I can have a conversation with my amazing boyfriend.
"Hi," I say not even bothering to hide my smile.
"Hey," he replies in a cheerful voice. "How's the hotel?"
"The hotel is amazing, it's even better than my house and before you ask, no I'm not exaggerating. I'll take pictures and show you when I get back."
"Why do you sound so out of breath?" he asks.
If it's even possible, my smile widens even more. The boys give me questioning glances and I lock eyes with Niall who is giving me more of an intense stare. The girls don't look too interested, probably already guessing by my tone of voice who it is.
"Oh no reason other than the fact I almost got mauled to death by a bunch of crazed One Direction fans," I say with a small laugh, pointing an accusing finger at each of the boys.
"What? Why? I thought you weren't meeting them until tomorrow," he says, the tone of the conversation suddenly becoming more serious. I'm not sure he's entirely comfortable with me meeting five of the hottest boys in the UK and probably a lot of other countries.
"Well they came to our hotel room - and completely surprised us might I add- and asked if we wanted to go sight- seeing for the day," I say normally, trying to keep the tone of the conversation light.
"Oh ok," he says, seeming to understand. "You're not hurt are you?" he asks, his voice suddenly filled with worry. A smile plays at my lips just knowing that he genuinely cares for me.
"Yeah I'm fine, we made it to the car in time. "
"That's good. So you having fun?"
"Yeah, New York is amazing. We went to see the Statue of Liberty today," I pause to let a little laugh out before continuing. "And we got hats that match the one the statue is wearing."
He lets out a laugh and says, "I hope you took pictures."
My eyes widen as I realise I don't know if we even got the picture or not. Did that girl take the picture before screaming or not? "Don't even ask about that. Louis decided to ask some random girl to take a picture of us and of course, she recognised them and decided to unleash the worst monster possible - a group of screaming teenage fangirls."
"Well that was a rather stupid move on Louis part," he laughs.
"Tell me about it," I look over to Louis to give him a glare, but he is still grinning at the mention of his name in our conversation.
"Well I better let you get back to sight seeing. I hope you have fun. Phone me when you get a chance?" he asks.
"Of course," I reply sweetly.
"Talk to you later, babe."
"Bye," I say and hang up the phone.
The boys waste no time on finding out who was on the phone.
"Was that your boyfriend?" Liam asks, sounding really interested.
"What's his name? Is it Kevin?" Louis asks and I have to stifle a laugh at his reference to Kevin the pigeon.
