Chapter 7

"Can I have a cookie now?" I ask my mum, not bothering to wait for an answer.

"Doesn't look like my answer matters."

My sister rises from her seat. "Right Rylee, Chloe go and get your shoes on, we're going."

"Noooo!" Chloe moans.

"Don't forget to enter that One Direction contest for me," I say giving my sister a cheesy grin.

"And why would I do that?"

"Because you're the best sister in the world," I reply, batting my eyelashes at her.

She rolls her eyes and sighs, "Fine."

"I'm not going home," Chloe says stubbornly, sitting down in a chair and folding her arms across her chest.

I slowly walk over to her. "I think you'll find that you are going home," I say tickling her and lifting her up. I run out the door with her in my arms and spin her around. "Beat you to the car!"

"No you won't," she quickly says before running off in front of me. For only being six, Chloe sure was a fast runner. She's sometimes even faster than me. At least I got her out to the car for Elaine.

"Thanks," Elaine says from behind me. Rylee waves bye to me while making a strange noise at the top of his lungs.

"Bye!" I say waving back. I watch them disappear around the corner in their car.

A drop in the ocean, a change in the weather, I was prayin that you and me might end up together. It's like wishin' for rain as I stand in the desert, and I'm holdin' you closer than most, coz you are my heaven.

My phone rings on my bed. It was my all time favourite song. 'A Drop In The Ocean' by Ron Pope. I skip over to my phone and check who it is- Eilidh.

"Hello besto," I say before she can say anything.

"TUNE INTO RADIO 2 NOW!" she screams over the phone and then hangs up. What was that all about? I do as she asked anyway. I'm already on my laptop, so I type Radio 2 into the search bar. As soon as the website loads, music sounds throughout my bedroom.

Let's go crazy, crazy, crazy til we see the sun, I know we only met but lets pretend it's love. And never, never, never stop for anyone. Tonight let's get some, and live while we're young.

I had to laugh at the 'tonight let's get some' part of the lyrics. They were really catchy, and I couldn't help but recognise the voices. I dance around my bedroom to the music, singing along.

Sadly, the song finishes and the radio presenter speaks, "And that was One Direction with their new song 'Live While We're Young' from their album 'Take Me Home' to be released in November."

That was One Direction? That's why the voices were so familiar! How could I not have recognised them?

"And just in case any of you people just arriving home from school missed that, here it goes again."

Hey girl I'm waitin' on ya, I'm waitin on ya, come one and let me sneak you out..

I call Eilidh back and instead of saying 'hello' like any normal person I scream down the phone instead. "I LOVE THEIR NEW SONG!"

"Me too!" she screams back. "I wouldn't mind getting some from them," she giggles.

I laugh back. "I'm so pre-ordering their new album."

"Sames. Have you seen the music video for 'Live While We're Young?"

"There's a music video?" I ask almost hyperventilating.

"Yeah," she replies.

"Gotta go and watch it," I say hanging up the phone like she did to me. I go straight onto youtube and watch it.

When it's finished, I'm sure the smile on my face could only be wiped off if Jessica entered the room, and I'm pretty sure she's not going to. Their music videos always look so fun. I mean they were in giant inflatable balls on the water. How cool is that? And plus, Niall had his shirt off.

Sorry that chapter was kind of lame. Oh well, I just had to include their new song.
