"Becca, you can't stay in your bed all day," Eilidh says softly to me as she rubs my back soothingly.

I keep quiet and throw the covers over my head so I can at least pretend that she's not there. Above me I hear Eilidh sighing and the pressure from my bed lift as she stand up. A second later, my entire duvet has been snatched away from me and thrown onto the floor, letting a cold draught take over my entire body.

I try to take my duvet back but Eilidh stands in my way. Glaring at her, I lie back down in my now freezing cold bed and curl into my ball.

"Becca, your life has to go on. It shouldn't stop just because two stupid boys said come horrible things."

I take what she says into consideration and my mind agrees with her, but my heart object to everything she just said. It feels as though someone has physically reached inside me, dug their nails into my beating heart and torn it from my chest. And despite what Eilidh may say, it feels like your life will never go on without that one person that you need and want the most by your side. It's true, Nathan's words hurt, but it's Niall's rejection that hurts the most.

Eilidh sits down beside me on the bed again and after seeing me shiver, places the duvet over my body. "Becca, you're not this person. You are a strong, confident person and you never let things get you down. The Rebecca I know would get right out of this bed, either brush all this aside or do something about it. Where is she now?"

This time, her words actually do something to me. They make me realise that I am being beyond ridiculous hiding away in my room when I could be out there doing something about this mess. I could be out there trying to make my peace with Nathan or trying to figure out who the hell took that photo of Niall and I or I could even be out there trying to get my man.

Eilidh jumps when I suddenly throw the duvet off of me and run into the bathroom to change into my school clothes. When I come out, I throw myself at Eilidh and tackle her in a huge bear hug.

"Thanks Eilz, what would I do without you?" I feel her smile against my shoulder as she hugs me tighter.

As she heads downstairs to get some breakfast from my mum, I pick up my phone from my bedside cabinet and scroll through my contacts until I find the person I am looking for.

Liam, I thought about what you said to me the whole journey home and I realised that Niall is the one for me. Tell him I'm sorry...

After sending the text, I shove my phone in my pocket and head downstairs for some of mums homemade pancakes that I've missed so much over the past three days.

As we set foot on school grounds, I see something I definitely did not want to see at this time. Jessica sitting on Nathan's lap, practically eating each other's faces.

I look to Eilidh to see that she has the exact same facial expression as mine- disgust. Sighing, I turn and begin to head in the opposite direction, expecting Eilidh to follow after me. But when I look behind, I see Eilidh marching angrily towards Nathan and Jessica.

"OI DICK!" she shouts at Nathan which causes the face eating to cease for a moment.

Jessica smirks in amusement as she sees Eilidh approaching and her eyes glint with victory and mischief when she looks at me. I hold her gaze for a moment, trying to figure her out. There's something about the look that I just can't seem to put my finger on.

Nathan gives Jessica one last kiss but she still doesn't break eye contact with me which infuriates me even more. As he turns around to face Eilidh he comes face to face with something he did not expect- a slap from Eilidh. He holds onto his left cheek in shock and rubs the red mark slightly.
