The blue envelope on Orion's hand felt heavier and heavier every second she looked at it. Grazing her fingers on the word Kore written on it, Orion could only find guilt inside her heart, she has been avoiding her grandfather long enough to the point where every time he came across her mind, the first thing that she would do is try to distract her thought in an instance.
Ever since her mother died, the only person that Pierre Baudelaire tried to cling onto was his one and only granddaughter, he tried his best to keep her in his grasp, just like he did to Orion's mother the day his wife died, all that he knew in his life was in the end, every woman that ever comes across his life tend to leave. Orion never intended to avoid her grandfather, never wanted to leave him alone, never wanted him to feel like he needed to put in the most effort just to be able to see her. But at the same time, Orion did not want to hurt him, she knew she was a constant reminder of how his daughter died. Orion never wanted to be the reason for his heartache.
Orion sighed as she began to open the letter, scrunching her nose when she realised the seal had already been opened. Whoever found this letter and was kind enough to give it back to her, but was nosy and she did not like it. By no means was this their business just because they found it.
Orion pulled the blank letter out, placing her right palm on top of it for a few seconds before the letter finally revealed the writing inside it, thank goodness Pierre Baudelaire was no foolish person. People did not call him an Alchemy Master for nothing, the brilliant student of the very known alchemist, Nicolas Flamel himself.
Kore,
I heard your Uncle Elijah has finally come back to town from his business travel, although I do not necessarily like him, I want to make sure you remember to not hate him too much, knowing that if I have the knowledge of every enemy your father used to have, I would've done the same thing that he did for you. I know he still has a long way to go, I think we both know about that, when the time comes for him to finally leave again, do not turn your heart away.
Thank your Aunt Freya for keeping me informed on your wellbeing in school, although, I would've appreciated it more if you wrote to me yourself, then again she also said you don't write to her often.
My home is always open to you.
Please know in every breath I took there's not one that goes without me missing you.

Orion bit her lip as she dug her nails into her right palm, leaving four little crescent moons in her skin. Her gaze darted into the dark common room, the only source of lights were coming from the candle sitting on the table along with her wooden box of lettering set and from the moon outside, seeping its light through the tall wide windows into the room.
It was such a pity that the Ravenclaw Common Room was the only common room without a fireplace, probably because it was placed on Hogwarts' highest tower. She lifted her head as she stared into the ceiling, looking into the night sky filled with stars, an imagery of the actual sky outside. Well, at least they have that.
Orion let out a soft sigh, opening her fist when she finally felt stings on her skin. She hated feeling guilty, especially to her own grandfather, especially when he was the only grandparents she had left. Orion was about to put the letter back on the envelope when something fell from the inside, a tiny parchment, not much was written on it, but still, it caught her eyes. She picked it up and immediately scrunched her nose in confusion when she read it.
Tell me, Kore, which one intrigued you the most, the crown of hellfire on top of your head or the narcissus that blooms under your feet on every step you take in this pathetic excuse of a realm they too often call home?
